Hey all, thought I'd update you on my scissor door conversion and show you some pics. Ill post all further installments and upgrades to my z, have my new vented front guards on the way from gonzo will upgrade to full leather interior black and orange soon.
some interesting mods there, car is way too busy for my liking, but as long as you like it,thats what counts btw,who did the engineering certificate for them ???
How much did this cost? And was is a DIY kit? or a custom fitment? i have been looking at one of those kits from modyourcar and i think that looks awesome
1) Doors look hot. Good work 2) OMG you have the same front bar as me. Are we the only 2 on this forum? 3) LOVE your side skirts too. Fit well with the bar.
Kinda agree with Simon, but hey, its what you love at the end of the day Any ZX looks good, and I can't say there is anything wrong with yours
Very nice 300 u have there. doors look great let me know if u want to offload those wheels oneday Regards Trev
Second. It's way over done and with vented guards aswell even more so but aslong as you like it that's right!
Cost around $2500, it was a cheaper kit which had to be modified to fit. If i was to do it again id go for a more expensive better quality kit which would have worked out about the same cost or even less. I saw one on a uk site for around 1k for the kit which looked good quality, worth the money if you like the look.
Zeds are one of the few cars with a door shape that swoops up. I think the doors look great with a scissor hinge conversion. Well done.
I knew that :bash: ,unless you have an engineering certificate, your insurance is now void, you will also be defected by the first cop that wants to defect you For these to be legal, they need to have an engineering certificate, that keeps the cops happy and the insurance company happy , Like i have said many times on other threads on these doors, firstly dont get cheap ones, get the zcentre ones, youll probably find the gas struts fail on these which is why they are cheaper, secondly there is alot more to having these fitted than meets the eye Having said that,i reckon the doors look good, but you must get that certificate,or its going to be a hard road ahead for you imo
lol.. Scissor doors on zeds look better when the windows are down while the doors are up, looks like horns of a bull! Cheers, -Kirill
Do you have any close up pics of the hinges? Do they open higher than in the pictures? It looks like it might be a bit hard to get in and out. I like orange Zeds alot, but love black ones
Scissor Doors Hi Daniel_Peppin, Thanks for sharing your photos there mate - lots of work gone into that Zed for sure. Man, you must be one skinny bloke as there isn't much room to squeeze between the door and seat? Best of luck there fellow zedder
damn thats the car i been planning for me, cept in black.... bugger i was hoping for unique, but you got EVERYTHING i thought of... lol
