I am trying to get hold of some speed bleeders and Rocket Industries have them in the 10mm size, but they have 1.0, 1.25 and 1.50 thread pitches. Which is the right size for the Z32? The american site www.speedbleeder.com shows the Z32 part number as SB1010, making me think that means 10mm size, 1.0mm thread pitch - but I'd like to know for sure.
Barry the ones I have are just a small peice of hose that fits over the nipple to direct the flow from the nipple into the bottle You shouldnt have to screw them, at least in my experience anyway
Jas, I think you have the Supercheap ones I understand one in every 100 or so actually works properly - congratulations! The metal speedbleeders I am looking for are (or can be) a permanent replacement for the bleed nipple. Have a look on www.speedbleeders.com, they are a nice peice of gear. Unfortunately speedbleeders.com don't answer emails.
Chris, once I resolve the issue, I will be happy to. I understand they fit the clutch slave cylinder as well, which is nice.
Barry, I put one in my slave cylinder recently - they work great. The correct sizes for the slave cylinder and the abs bleed points are: M7 x 1.0 (SB7100S). And the M10 x 1.0 (SB1010) is used for the calipers.
Chris, rang Rocket about them ....they don't hold stock and only get them on special order from the US. Not only that, Rocket wants $18.70 each for them and Speedbleeders US only want US$7.00 each. I will ring the US myself and order direct - using Skype of course. It is late evening now in the USA so I will have a go in the morning and let you know the score.
No so fast young fella! Just to make things more complex they make two versions. Steel at USD7 and Stainless steel at USD15.00. We need M10 x 1.0 for the calipers and M7 x 1.0 for the clutch slave for the Zed. No idea about Brembos. I think I might get say 40 brake and 10 clutch units in the OEM steel. I am sure I will have no trouble offloading the extras. Are you happy with the steel Chris or would you prefer the stainless ones?
Steel is fine. I might have a look at my bleeders tomorrow. The Brembo's have 2 per caliper just to make it difficult too
Show off! Do you have a tap and die set? If you do, have a look in there and you might well find a set of thread pitch gauges. I only discovered mine today. Didn't even know they were in there.
Do some research on twinturbo.net about speedbleeders. Fine for actual bleeding, but then whip them off and put the stockers back on afterwards.
WHY? What's the point of that? I've installed the stainless steel items in the clutch (2 required) & brakes. They work exactly as advertised. If you're bleeding the brakes or clutch by yourself, these are an excellent product. Also available are sealed plastic bags & silicone hose to attach to the nipples, highly recommended, no mess! The rubber caps that are supplied with the Speed Bleeders quickly deteriorate.
They reckon they will be here in 7 - 10 days ... that would be good. As for taking them off again after bleeding, wouldn't even the small dribble when you do that mean you have to bleed the brakes again ?? Chris, I will let you know when they are here.
