    Hi Guys,

I've changed my heater core aproximately 6 months ago. Though in recent weeks I've noticed my heat temperature being reduced, it's not that warm though if I was to set it to 30,35-40 it should be hot as. I remember a small hole/crack in the blower located behind the passangers glovebox while putting my dash back together. Back then I just taped over it so it wouldn't be so noisy when the fan was operating. I know that tape has now come off because there's a little whining noise everytime the fan/ac or heater is on. I was wondering if this could be the cause of my heater not heating as it once should? Could air be escaping through that crack?

Has anyone experienced this? Could it be something else, my taps were ok when I installed my heater core, did the flush and so on. I haven't checked my coolant level lately but the engine temperature level is normal. And I am not feeling any leaking coolant/fluids on my foot so I know my heater core is still fine.

Could my tap not be opening fully to let hot coolant into the core?

Just strange it happened after that tape came off the blower housing crack. Should I just fix up that hole and see how I go?

Please anyones advice is much appreciated.

    Thanks

    Kind Regards,

    Could be a sensor problem

A couple of years ago the temperature setting on my air conditioning had to be set ridiculously high to get any heating. I finally discovered that a previous owner had put a piece of card into the vent slits over the upper cabin temperature sensor to stop the little fan that the sensor has, squeaking. No fan, no air movement, no ability to sense temperature variation, incorrect temperature. The point is that the air conditioner computer relies on sensor inputs to control temperature. If for any reason the inputs are wrong then the temperature may be wrong. Try running the air conditioner diagnostics. details are in the service manual.
