What do you guys think of these? They are normally out my price range but I've come across a used set that may work out to be a bargain. I just don't know too much about them
a good choice, IF they are still in good condition. good low down response for street driving and still HEAPS of power.
I'm very happy with mine. Stock internals with 550cc injectors, exhaust, pod etc. Made 285rwkw with stock intercoolers. And i'm sure there's more power to come. Hopefully they are in good nick Ben
hks 2530's are a very good turbo, but expensive to buy brand new..... if they are cheap and your confident theres not a rebuild required, your onto a good thing this time!!
if they say they have been rebuilt then they arnt HKS anymore as hks never made rebuild kits for them ,HKS have different internals to the garret 2530's I had a full HKS 2530 kit brand new and it was the best

1500 thats an unreal price.Make sure they are a new kit not a rebuild. My kit cost me just over $8000 but that was some time back and that was with a discount
not true. i have proven this to be a myth. iv read all over this forum that hks dont make rebuild kits ect, and the fact is that my 2530's are rebuilds. to verify this my boss has just called me. he was on the phone to a guy from hks japan, and i can deal through him directly
thats a total load of crap but hey I dont want to get into a typing war. I had a brand new kit and a so called HKS rebuilt kit and they are different ,so I got in contact with HKS direct and they said there is "NO REBUILD KIT" but hey what would I know. I have only owned 5 of these cars (one brand new in 1990)and do most to all my own work and find out the facts for myself not what someone else has to say. What do they say "STRAIGHT FROM THE HORSE'S MOUTH" works for me and nothing less
no its not champ . you can buy the guts from hks japan for a 2530. i know cause i ordered one. its a genuine hks part, that can be brought through autobarn. thats dealing straight from the hks factory at japan. if a normal person rang them from the streets it would be near impossible to talk to them as they dont speak english. we had a mobile of a man there by the name of yokashimu who deals with us in english. i can order a few more for any1 that wants guts for these turbos but it would have to go through autobarn.
Yeah im sure good old autobarn can get them:whatever: You will find its just a garrett not a HKS there is a difference. Oh yeah forgot to say all my info was obtained in Japan face to face:zlove: . My ex is a english teacher in Japan and speaks Japanese very well so I dont think there was a misunderstanding.
did you go to the HKS factory in japan. i have obtained yokashimu mobile phone number via rob from sunbury autobarn who has been to the hks factory in japan. The factory wouldnt have looked at you twice if you went to visit them as there a wholesaler. now the "rebuild" kit, only includes the guts of the turbo, im pretty sure i can get the housing as well. honestly dont turn this into a debate mate, im only telling the forum the facts i have obtained, if you were told otherwise, then you were lied to. cheers
Noticed 2 things after changing stock turbos to hks 2530s.. 1. little bit more lag 2. lot more wtfbbqholyshitineedtostopacceleratingzomg!!!1!one oh..made 330hp @ 10psi..20psi tune comes when the motor has worn in a little more.
