Hey everyone, I'm doing the plenum pull right now, ive followed the tech article and removed all bolts and hoses as per article.. but i can't get the plenum off.. are there any bolts that i missed? when people pulled their plenum off for the first time.. did anyone have to use a bit of force? a hammer? lol jimmy..
Mine was stuck on pretty tight but I could rock it a bit and it started to move - helping hand from the other side of the car and it popped off ok....
explain how its not moving? is it like pulling away a little but not coming completly off? or is it completly not moving with your force? you would have to double check everything has been removed. all the under plenum hoses etc dont try to pull them off just cut them all. they all will not be replaced anyhow if your doing a bypass... if you have everything gone, it should come off very easily...all bolts removed? on top of plenum, on the sides etc?
after removing the throttle cover, there are a few fittings which secure the throttle cover to the plenum, but also secure the upper to loser plenum.....i missed these the first time and was unable to remove because of this ......they are in the centre of the plenum and "i think" they are copper coloured....
Um yeah ill take a picture of the top.. but its moving just a tiny bit and i can't completely remove it.. ive taken the 8 bolts on top of the plenum..
are you sure you did everything the tech said? its pretty detailed with what to remove. everything needs to come off, everything around it or holding it etc...re-read the tech article and tick off what you have done.
Okay this is where im stuck at.. egr bolts removed, both pcv hoses removed, the 4 bolts on the side of the plenum also removed
EGR fittings into the bottom of the plenum? Would think you got them if you have the tech article Maybe some of the pipes for the IACV?
OMG i feel like a Goose!!1 but that really didnt look like a normal bolt! LOl the plenum came straight out after i removed that bolt!!1 THANk You guys.. with the help and the quick replies!! but i think there might be more questions to come!! THank you again everyone!!
Another general trick for the occasion when you do actually get all the bolts out and it's still stuck, which can sometimes happen with an old and crusty gasket, is to just whack it real hard with a rubber coated mallet or similar banging tool!
