Power Steering

Hi All,

having a small problem with my power steering. (sometimes stiff)

did an search and checked everything that others having problem with and all ok.

i have tried DataScan & Conzult to see if anything comes up and nothing at all

well nothing except in DataScan when looking at Data Display & bottom left is power steering ON/OFF and mine says OFF always ?

any help would be greatful, thanx

As with other thread.... check your power steering fluid for correct level, you may be out of fluid.

 

checked it all and fluid full & topped up

the only thing i have not checked is the solenoid under the car on steering rack putting voltage to it to hear it work or not. (lazy)

not sure why datascan shows as its off even when its easy ot hard (steering)

 

Power Steering Control Unit maybe, or power steering pump vane failure.

Likely to be 1 of 3 electronic sensors...
Mine had similar symptons until I swapped out the power steer control unit/sensor (small square metal cased box) located near the ECU.
