i want to change some studs on the rear hub...i have a spare front hub sitting here can i use the studs from it and replace for the rear hub?

    just the studs...

ive done front ones before, is the rear as easy as the front to change?

DinoZ Talks sh#t for a living.

Parts fiche shows different part numbers for front and rear studs, so can only assume they are different lengths. Only a guess.

    Chad,

Front and rear wheel studs are definitely different.
Refer to the following links, and scroll down to see the differences. the only differences between these measurements and the stock studs will be dimension 'A' (length).

    Z32 Front studs:

    Z32 Rear studs:

The difference between front and rear appears to be the diameter of the splined area, though both are 36 spline, rear is 13mm and front is 14.3mm.

    wheel studs

    hey mate

goin through this slowly - hub by hub - at the mo too!!

    front studs part# is 43222-70T00
    rear studs part# is 43222-50J00

got a front and rear to compare in front of me and the rear def has a larger diameter splined area.

was about 100 bucks for all 20 studs from nissan but i was lucky enough to get mine for free.. choice

good luck, its a soab of a job :)

'Splined' area is a series of grooves going around the top (head) end of the stud which 'bite' into the holes in the hub to hold them secure. Your prices are pretty 'cool'... have just been quoted $10+ each stud for non-standard set previously fitted by a supposed 'Zed' workshop who, for some reason of their own (probably 'cause they had these lying around and were charging me anyway), drilled out the holes in the hub and fitted these non-standard studs. Have had a hell of a job finding replacements after two broke will trying to change over wheel sizes...

    Hmm

its on the bottom off the stud,(spline) stops the stud from spinning when you remove or replace a wheel.
