Z32 Twin turbo 5spd 2+2 whole for wrecking

Hi all,

I have the above mentioned ZX sitting on a farm in Tassie and have reached the point where I think it may be worth just as much to me to wreck the car, as it is to sell it as a whole. This is simply because the price of good condition Z32 TT 5spds is now so cheap, that I reckon I'd struggle to get more than $6-7K for it in its current form. Mechanicals, body and interior are sound, but needs minor TLC (as per a 17 year old car it has minor scratches, wear on the cloth seats, etc etc, plus stock wheels with no tread).

Am I better off parting it out? Car is fully driveable, testable, etc, however I think I'd probably get more if I just strip it down (I have lots of time, space etc so this is no concern for me). What do others think? Am I better off seeing if I can get buyers for big ticket items (engine, gearbox, front bar and reo, etc) before committing to this?

If you think you'll get the same amount in pieces as opposed to the whole thing then you're better off selling it as a whole. Hard to justify spending so much time pulling it appart for the same end result. Someone might be looking for a project car or a donor car or there might be someone just short of a 300zx budget but with knowledge to get it back to it's former glory.

 

I could be interested in the manual tranmission...

and all other required parts for the auto-manual conversion. I'm also located in Tas. Where abouts is the car?

Im interested in a few parts if you decide to part it out. Mainly like a splash panel under the drivers side and the big one under the engine. + a few this and that little things.

300zx parts

I need items as well if your parting out, i would also want the transmission and feel that i would use/abuse it more than sim would

 

ill have to start a list of what i need!

i call dibs on:

*rear interior and rear trim
*passenger seat side plastic cover thing
*left hand side climate control pod and holder
*top engine cover thing
*rear lights and centre

and prob a heap of other things i cant think of now.

Apologies for the delay in replying. Tomorrow morning I'll respond to each in kind, also those who have PM'd. I'll try to get some imageshack photos up (they're not the most helpful, taken from weird angles) and also some details - mileage, specs etc

Thanks for your patience. To save some of the PM's that are coming through, my preference clearly is to sell it as a whole unit (it is a fully driveable, registerable ZX with no ticking timebombs, just a dire need of TLC which I am not in a position to devote), however I am not interested in offers of the $4-5K calibre for such a car. BTW - car is in Sth Tassie.

If you are not interested in a 4-5K offer

then may I respectfully suggest that you are waisting your time in advertising or getting opinions on this one.
If the car is need of TLC as you say, then it may not be worth much more than this figure of such to part out OR sell as a whole.

Don't waste your time

At least two of us were seriously interested in the whole car and got nowhere. I even agreed the price he said he wanted without argument.

He doesn't answer posts and he doesn't answer PMs. I sent him my phone number, but he wouldn't give me his.

I guess jerking people around is one of his foibles......
