My idea to block the hoses is to cut the original hoses to double the length of the metal conection for the balance tube and ERG and then bend the hose back to the fuel rail/ERG connection point and use a ziptie to fasten it to the connector tightly, im going to do that today and ill post up photos to tyo show what i mean. Umm If u want i can come down and give u an hand if u want. Im free most days except for weekends. Your lucky you've already installed your new test pipes so you dont have to worry about the open metal pipes in the exhaust. ill message zed4life now and ask him thanx sandeep
It doesn't have to be done ASAP but it would be a good idea to do it in the near future... Put it on the 'mods to do soon' list.
Well just rang Joe at op Choice and he quoted me $500, so cant do anything till the end of next week.

Update: Blocking Balance Tube & EGR Pipes Thanx to Hyper101's recommendation for blocking the Balance Tube & EGR pipes, went to Super Cheap today and brought a Pack of 6 4mm Vac Connector Caps for $3.60. They fitted the connections perfectly. And here is the new look for engine bay in the area where the solenoid was. So much more room now
haha thats correct although i dont think there are any other members in WA that haven't had there aivs removed by either myself or tom haha im thorough especially when it comes 2 removing extra junk from the zed !!
Just letting everyone know this has now be added to the Tech guide section under the A - Z section I hope it helps anyone interested in removing their AIVs and if anyone in vic needs help or would like me to do it for them im keen to remove them for you.
Well done on adding an article to the tech section, and I might just take you up on the offer of helping to remove mine at some stage.
Thanks, I will take you up on that when I have a bit more spare time. Hopefully I will see you on sunday too.
i dont think its to cool the cats its.... for maintaining operating temp in the cats. cats are only efficient between a certain temp range. so knowing this and thinking about the process that the aiv's follow. i would be 99% confident that they are to heat the cats, not cool ecu adds extra fuel at idle and the aivs add air, which to me would inicate its a heating process to maintain the operation of the cats, thus meeting some clean air requirment.
Well done mate. It's good to see someone with minimal mechanical experience, take on a project like this, and complete it satisfactorily. It's even better when that person takes the time to make a "How To.." as clearly as you have(OK, so you had a few small problems identifying items, so what?). That is as good and clear a guide to completing the task, as I have seen to date, so don't apologise for your great effort.:zlove::zlove::zlove:
Good Job: Nice and Clean Good Job: Nice and Clean, I think i have the confidence to do mine aswell now
Its very straight forwards stuff, you will pickup on what needs to be done when your doing ti but the guide should help you know what to expect. I can come around and help anyone who wants a hand with the removal.
