Ok, as some of you know already my car is not 100%. Here's the story,

(ALL work done by BigBaz) Thanks mate:D

One day car started to run rough, small popping backfires. Next day had completely lost a cylinder. Diagnosed 1 cylinder:mad: . First thought it was spark plug so changed them and sweet, tested clyinder and was all good:) . Decided to change all the plugs aswell. After finishing this had lost clyinder again:eek: ????? Had not touched it while changing the other plugs at all??? Swapped #1 coil pack with #2 and same thing. Pulled out plug to ensure fuel distribution (as wet as a milf in heat) Now, have cleaned ptu connectors, coil connector still no good.
PTU you say! NAH! Baz took out his one and tested on my car, no improvement. (by the way we had to do this twice as 1st time Baz's ptu connector was so rusted to the connection, ptu did not fire my Zed up at all. Put his back in and same thing in his car:eek: , cleaned and cleaned and cleaned still no start up. Got out the trusty nail file to clean up connectors good and proper and VROOM!!!!! True story!!!)

    SO.................

    1. I know the cylinder is still fine as was tested after plug replacement and running sweet.
    2. Not the PTU
    3. Not the coil pack
    4. Not the plug (obviously)
    5. No code 11?CAS? so asuming this is not the issue

Next week will change coil connector (Come on Baz, you know you want to fix my Zed:D) It's got to be the connector!!!!!!!! PLEASE be the connector!!!!!!!! Have not been in Zed for 5 weeks, and have to drive company falcon s/w auto!!!!!:bash:

If not the connector, apart from wiring I'm fresh out of idea's.

    Thanks for reading, any imput/ideas???????????????

    WICKED OUT

Your problem sounds very much what I had. Mine turned out to be a poor connection in the injector plug. (I had replaced it but the crimp was not good. I have now also soldered it for a better connection). I bought mine from the local fuel injection supplier but I have also bought 2 from Cas1 and her connectors (that are pre-wired) are infinitely better. Highly recommended.

    Not sure

about injectors, have not had pull done. How could those issues affect the cylinder the way it did though(on/off again)? If injectors why just the 1 cylinders always and why did it come back when i changed plug (flame retardent applied):D

    no worries mate

one of my cylinders is missing and we tried changing the ptu but that didnt help...then cleaning connections etc...like what you have done... so the next step are the injectors...fingers crossed...

Well there's your problem right there. Byron worked on your car....big no no.

Dosn't sound like you've ruled out injector or coil plugs entirely and they are literally a 2 minute test with a multimeter...get cracking.

injector connector might have been disturbed

whilst removing coilpack. Check the injector connector. 95% that it will be this...

Place a screwdriver on the corresponding injector whiles idling and listed for the clicking of this individual injector, if no clicking- there' your culprit.

    DrongoMan Sir

In jest my good man in jest. I'm waiting for my credit on the nail file idea ;) I would make a great council foreman wouldn't I

I think it is wise for you to factor in a plenum pull mate, may as well cover some future bases as well.

So Andy... does this mean you'll grace the boys with your prowess?

If the spark was wet, how could it be the injector connector as doesnt that indicate that the injector is squirting

Yes and no...Injector could be firing intermitantly and with a reduced pulse width due to the f*&ked connector.

here is an option out of left field for you i had a simlar problem a while ago turned out to be the plug into the ECU worked out on one end pushed it back in and away she went

yeah but in that case your engine warning light should be lit up on the dash...but if he's got it to fire occasionly when fooling around with plugs/connectors then under the hood.

    The clicky test

Long screwdriver on injector pressed up to your ear. You should hear it loudly and clearly clicking. If its clogged maybe not so well sounding as the others.

A wet plug maybe because the injector is not closing well.
An ultrasonic clean might be all you need, maybe a fuel filter too.
