the black window on my convertible is in really bad condition and i cant see through it. any ideas for cleaning it . Did anybody get a new peice of plastic put in it and how much did it cost? and did anybody buy a new cover from the US. and how much did it cost? Thanks Trevor
You can use a meguirs plastic polish in the interim, but is not a be all solution. It will only clear it up a little. Not sure on cost's for replacement, but call auto upholsterer's for a start and they should be able to point you in the right direction Cheers Rob
Try Robbins in the US. http://www.robbinsautotopco.com/homepage.html I bought a top from them for my wife's MX5 - A$690 delivered with a glass rear window. The price from Mazda in Aus was $2700! and that was with a plastic rear window. I expect Nissan would be a similar price difference.
I used a few different things(meguirs and mothers wont work) and the only thing that works is a product called Plexus . It works a treat, not cheap but really works well
I got a whole new top from the US - about $475 landed. Another $300 to have it installed. The upholsterer that installed it said it is easy to replace the plastic window. Shouldn't be more than $100-$200 at a guess. The whole top comes off very easily - undo one spring and a nut (bolt?) on either side and lift it off.
