Went to Calder Park a few weeks ago and got 3 runs under my belt. Every single launch was useless with a best 60 foot of 2.2 sec. My best run was 13.5 at 109mph with a 2.4sec 60 footer (see timeslip). All the runs were done on street sh*t tyres (Kengas) on stock rims with a tyre pressure of 36psi all round. Go-fast-mods are as follows:- EBC set at 14psi turbo back exhaust pod filters splitfire coilpack connectors The system was still in the boot and the car was run under normal street conditions (full tank of petrol, full system installed, street tyres, etc.) Sorry about the vid (and the language on it ) Video is 1MB in size so its worth the download, if only for the exhaust noise http://www.megaupload.com/?d=UM3KMTIJ LaterZ Chris
Yeah mate, lower rear tyre pressure to about 20PSI will make a huge difference to traction. Get that 60'er into the sub 1.9 and you are talking 12 second ET's
ill be hoping for a 1.6-1.7 sixty footers once i get some M/T's and other mods. ill be hoping for a mid 12 sec once i go back in july/august. only reason i ran full street trim is because i wanted to see what it could run just like on the street.
good effort if your running stock suspension thats pretty good. i couldn't watch the video to see what sort of launch you were getting but i found lower tyre pressures do help {they can only do so much} don't go to low tho just play around with them it's the only way you'll really know and feather the clutch heaps, if you really wanna good time i'd just go buy a set of springs with a lower rebound rate just for drag days good luck to ya cheers leith
