Well.. I did sell my Zed for a XR6 Turbo

After 6 years of Zed ownership I sold up and got me a XR6 Turbo. Had it now for bout 2 years. Very happy with it. Easy to mod (if thats what your into). Highly recommended. :)

i actually think the other way round. nissan engine didn't make the commo better, nissan in my mind was silly for sharing the engine with holden

Hey Playrz would be good to hear a comparison in your unbiased opinion. What are your overall thoughts when you compare your xr6 to your old zed

    My brief comparison...

    VS

See My Garage for more pics

Given that my Zed was extensivley modified its a little hard to give a direct comparison to my XR6T (which is relatively stock) but here goes...

    Looks:
This is obviously subjective as both are great looking cars IMO, but the Zed probably more so.... I definately got more looks in the Zed but this may be due to the fact that the Falcon is alot more common on the roads thus attracting less attention.

    Performance
Given all performance work done to my old Zed it definately makes it quicker than my current setup on the XR6T. But potenially I think the Falcon has more than the Zed.
Handling wise the Zed shits all over the XR6T, even with new springs/shocks/swaybars etc in the Falcon the Zed still outperforms the Ford. Both cars are big ol whales but the Zed carries the weight better.

    Running cost
The Ford is by far cheaper to run and maintain in all aspects. Everything from servicing, insurance, parts, fuel, etc.

Overall I loved my Zed more but I am happier with the XR6T. I dont get any of that "love hate" relationship like you do with a Zed or the urge to always do something to it. So far my Ford has been hassel free so very happy. Both are excellent cars, although I must admit I am always looking at the 350Z :zlove:

Good on ya players. Nice XR6 bud, looks awesome!
Either way, I would not go anywhere else bar the Z or the Fords

Is there a twon turbo set up for the XR6T?
One big turbo would create a fair bit of lag but if you had a sequential set up like in a GTR or something, one small and one big turbo, that would be pretty sweet.

No twin turbo setup available to my knowledge, but it really doesnt need it. Power is very linear with almost no lag anyway and heaps of torque.

    i love the BA's

after a run of absolute crap cars from the xf to the au. ford were right on the money with the BA especially the XR6T. love it. if i ever have to get a family car in the future its what i would go for.

I dont go by second hand info. This streeotype is the same with Holden's.

If they were so troublesome then why would companies continue to use Holdens and Fords?

True you have some lemons but thats the same with any other makes, the majority would be trouble free or with very little issues.

Imports like ours are actually far more expensive to fix/repair. Heck a family friend (used to be my choice mechanic) had one look at the zed engine bay and refused to work on it. Thats all right, I wouldnt want non zed specialist working on my pride and joy = expensive hourly rates.
