    Hey Everyone,

Recently my front end has become squeeky and instead of the car handling like a sports car its taking corners like a bus and its been getting slopier and slopier.

My guess is its the front end busings getting old, cracking and giving up.

If anyone has done the front end, can you please tell me, whats involved (what parts need replacing) if you did it yourself and also how much you paid aprox.

I looked into it a little and see that adjusable camber etc...can be put in. While im going to have all this stuff out, is it worth getting a few fancy suspension bits or for regular street use is this kind of thing more trouble than its worth.

sorry for my lack of knowledge with the suspension. Ive dont the timing belt, clutch etc...myself and had no probs but when it comes to the suspension im a bit

Front tension rod bushes is my guess. Easy to replace if you have a press. The stock ones can let go in a big way... Easiest fix is probably adjustable rods, around $200 from Egg, if your on the cheap you can get new bushes for about $70 (I think) from repco.

2nd the tension rods. When they wear out it really stuffs up the handling (and they can squeak like hell!). Replacing them is relatively simple so you can do it yourself, or pay a suspension shop to do it and it shouldnt cost too much.

I don't want to scare you but here in the UK we have had bad reports of poly bush's in the tension rods causing the track control arm to crack.

If you do get Energy suspension products make sure you get the updated ones or better still get the adjustable pillow ball type.

Take it to Pedders and do their $16 safety check. You get a written report on the suspension, (their) cost to fix it. No obligations, so you can do it yourself/elsewhere.

Pedders check is a good idea, I did that with my Zed. I asked them to show me what needed doing as they did the check and wrote the report.
I was then able to get the exact parts I needed confidently.
    $16 well spent :)

I also have the new version of the Energy Suspension Master Kit ordered, looking forward to getting it installed! :) Chrispy - what pieces didn't fit on a Z? Mine's an import TT by the way. In your post in my thread http://www.aus300zx.com/forum/showthread.php?t=258757 , said that the rear sway-bar mounts don't fit, what else should I look for that's not compatible/not included?

EDIT: Apparently the new black ones are graphite-impregnated - LOL - which apparently makes them easier to fit and reduce squeaking, don't know how this will affect their strenght and stop cracking! Haven't heard anyone on this forum mention that problem before...

Yes rear swaybar mounts don't fit. Front ones are a touch too small, but will pull around. I don't mind though new swaybars soon :zlove:

I thought that the colour difference was only for looks...

The "master" kit includes about 1/3 of all the bushes in the Z's suspension, albeit the 1/3 most important ones that wear out the quickest. The only ones that where stuffed on mine where the front tension rods, front swaybars and diff/subframe ones (not sure which but it does make a clunky noise)
