everytime i see a z out there thats gone single throttle body and intake, makes me wanna do it even more.. it just looks so much neater..
Looks like a dead flounder the guy who owns that has changed a lot more than just the plenum, and its not pretty imho!
I've been thinking about... ...a custom tubular steel jobby... maybe staino for bling. Wouldn't cost much.
Must be fast, 3 bonnet pins ... Looks like crap I gotta say, but is a full race installation that doesn't account for low down torque I would imagine. That's why we have such long intake runner length on our manifolds. Be a pig in any range that the turbo's were't boosting in, probably under 3000rpm.
yeh doesn't look right to me, as if a whole part of the engine is missing. the plenum of the zed is also so unique, haven't seen a better one yet!!
looking at this picture makes me think it's even more possible to fit a supercharger in place of that manifold. Still would require small mods to the bonnet.
Ummmm That is not just a single plenum..... it actualy has spark leads, um doesnt that mean that he has ripped out the coils ptu and put on a custom dizzie? Correct me if im wrong im not trying to be a smart ass but I think he might be slightly unwell... hes farked.... too much time + too much money = foolish modifications for no reason thus destroying what was once a wonderful car
ONe question though Why would you all of a sudden go: "hang on....i think there is one too many throttle bodies here...." What would make you do it? i suppose a top mount intercooler? (i'm guessing, i Had a NA...and i want another!!!)
Look at the size and position of the left hand turbo feed pipe!! goes right across the front behind the radiator. thats just Dumb. Bet it is no faster or has more torque.
There is a guy in brisbane that builds plenums similar to this they use one larger 90mm ford throtle body and they build a customer pipe that goes 2 in 1 into the throttle body so you don't change any of the existing piping , the only problem with this is they don't fit under a standard bonnet it needs to have some type of bonnet scoop..... sorry i don't have any pic's of them but they do look nice.
If you want a single TB TT setup, you should do it like this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eloUqB2E0_k TT's piping coming into the FMIC from the sides, and up, to the top, then into the plenum
oN PREFORMANCE YEAH IT WOULD BE GREAT BUT ON LOOKS Mmmm i will have to agree with loud'n'proud it does look like a elephant
I was always told that the plenem had to be double the size of engine voulume ....eg 3 litre engine = 6 litre plenem for it to work efficently
