since i have done all the work to the car, it starts blowing blue smoke at idle after the motor has warmed up, after a drive i put it back in the shed and leave it idling and after a minute or two the smoke starts out of the drivers side exhaust, the passenger side is fine, if you rev it a couple of times it clears and under power out on the road i have been told by someone following behind me that it does not smoke, does anyone have any ideas in what it may be that is causing this?, i thought it may be a lifter not working properly or possibly the oil feed to the turbo as there is a slight leak in the lines on both turbo's
    cheers

i am goin to take a half educated guess at this one... It could be a symptom of bad valve guides or valve seals that are letting oil down into the cylinders but as you drive the car it burns off and clears up. best to do a compression test on this. If all good then i would start pointing fingers at the turbos. that way you can narrow it down a little.....

    Anyone would like to eleborate??

Your've just fitted a new exhaust yeah? Might be that as most of the back presure has gone you are getting a little oil leak in the turbo seals?? Just a guess though...

Blue smoke usually means your burning oil in the cylinders.

On a bike it means you rings are on the way out...

    Remove your

plugs, if your burning oil the plugs will show it.Dying or dead 02's can cause a little smoke.

seems that's happened to a few people not long after installing them dump pipes.. I can't imagine it'd be the cause but maybe if the turbo seals were on the way out, the reduced back pressure may help finish em off.

Dude, I have the same problem with my zed and it only started happening after i installed my dumps this is odd. I was told by AMEC in brisbane that the smoke on idle is caused by worn out valve guides that leak into the cylinders they said this is pretty common with zeds being 15yrs + old.

    Cheers

It can be two things! either Valve stems or turbo seals (more likely on stock turbos)

id say you drivers side turbo seal ;)

    good luck :zlove:
