For all those who live in the south east of Melbourne you've probably heard of a policemen called Adam Pettit. Apparently he's a real hater of Jap and holden cars and especially P platers. As far as i know he used to drive a Ford XR8 BA model in silver rego SMT305 but I did a search on it and found it's been sold a few months ago which explains why I havent seen his car driving around for a while. Heres a link: http://72.14.253.104/search?q=cache...umber=2004104+smt305&hl=en&gl=au&ct=clnk&cd=1 Anyone know what he's driving around now? Anyone had any experiences with this guy? Apparently he reads the varoius forums (silvia, skyline and holden, maybe even this one) to find out about cruises which I reckon is a bit much. He patrols the region around Knox shopping centre so those of you who went on that cruise to skyhigh a few weeks back were lucky coz I'm sure he would have got some of you for something. He's one of those guys who knows the rules back to front, inside out. And I heard on one of the holden forums that his family's had threats made towards them which is pretty stupid coz it would only wanna make him work harder. Have a good new year all. Sandeep
pffft i heard about this guy off a mate who's a nissan silvia regular. never had a run in with him and personally, you're all giving him too much credit and attention.
Yeah I get what your saying. He probably likes the reputation he's getting from stuff like this but yeah I gotta be careful ya know. I drive past knox regularly and he wasn't really any problem for me as I used to drive my parents Camry. Now that I got the 300 I'm not really sure about the noise level my exhaust makes and if its road legal. I steer clear of chapel street but its harder for me to stay away from knox.
my mate has been done by pettit... i have never run into him luckily... my friend in his r33 gts-t has been canaried 4 times by pettit and from what i have gathered he is a real asshole and thinks any p-plater in a nice car is hooning about 24/7...
just had a run in with pettit.. not sure if this is the car he is gonna be driving from now on.. was a purple xr8 with blue underbody neons. he was trying to get me to race him up stud road so when i saw his lgiths to green at the ligths i turn off at i dropped a couple of gears back and spooled right next to his window and let the BOV off right next to it.. and quickly turned off... 2 seconds later i see a cop car exit my estate and follow me back into my estate just as they had left LMAO. musta radio'd through to them.
aren't there rules about entrapment? aren't there rules about entrapment? Not to mention, other than the emergency lights, aren't police cars subject to the same rules as everyone else, re neons etc? ... If he pulled me over i'd be submitting a complaint about his illegal car!
this is australia not the USA, courts here dont believe in entrapment.. i forget count how many hundreds of times i've cruised through knox in my zed.. never seen him.. personaly i also feel that too many people are making a big deal out of him.. ofcourse he loves the attention, probably gives him a hard on thinking about it so he can bang his wife.. best thing to do is to just forget he exsists, that'd shit him off real good.
I'd be complaining as well, you can have neons as long as there not blue, red, orange or white. As long as there not distracting to other drivers...
I've heard a lot of different stories on neons Love to see a real legal document that states i can put green ricer neons under my car
You'll also find that Police vehicles are generally exempt from regular law. Darker than limo tint is a classic example! I wouldn't want to argue the point of a Police car being illegal - especially to a traffic cop - they WILL make your life hell!
Does Australia have a "police complaints authority" If you can be bothered you can always make their life hell right back at them if they aren't totally by the book...
Crime and misconduct comission, and yes it will bury them in paperwork Don't know if it would be worth it, all there buddies might keep an eye out for you...
