    Hi,

Last night i put my new dump pipes on (Tune Agent) And took it for a spin to test it out. I couldn't get anymore than 5 PSI turned my boost controller right up and nothing , this is odd. still no more than 5 PSI car usually runs 12 PSI , The only thing i can think of is that i may have left a rag in the intercooler piping , would this explain would the car won't boost properly?, idles ok drives ok but crap all boost. Would the rag just be caught in the intercooler would this have damaged my car at all? I need check it tonight.

unless you knocked out the actuator rod arm or something

Maybe? Probably not thought i didnt really get my hands anywhere near the actuator it worth having a look. When i put the turbo pipe on drivers side i could remember whether i have taken the rag out? Its probably the problem just hope it hasn't damaged anything.

Where about in the piping is the rag? before the intercooler or after? If after, I assume it would get sucked in and then you'd have other problems like fire and cylinders not running at all. If before, then you might have that lack of boost your talking about.

It was before the intercooler hopefully it's stuck in the intercooler. This wouldn't hurt the engine?

mate i wouldn't be driving around with a rag in my piping, depends on the location of the rag and how big it is it could go all the way and get stuck in your heads, block up a valve or do all sorts of damage... lets hope u didn't leave one in there!

Did you have the splitter on the dump pipe installed the correct way around and tight? do you have auto or manual? the auto turbos are smaller and sometime require the spiltter to be ground down slightly.

your wastegate might be stuck open, you may have built enough boost to get it open, then it might have caught on the splitter and is stuck, thus not closing and allowing exhaust gas to escape though the waste gate....

first of all i would pull the cooler pipes off and check for the rag you may have dropped in there, then i would probably remove the dump and check for scrapes, score marks on the wastegate splitter...

    good luck!

    Egg ....

    Good points.

Though this new batch of Tune Agent dumps the splitter is well positioned, on the last batch a few were slightly crooked.
Yeah don't drive it till you check for the rag.
    Good luck,

I'm not sure it would be good for the engine though. You'd be running really rich I think, as the engine wouldn't be getting enough air. Pull the pipe off and check, if Z-rated's suggestions aren't the case and the wastegate is fine. I mean, otherwise no point putting those dumps on and all lol. But no, if it's stuck before the intercooler it's unlikey you've yet done damage, but get it out of there ASAP.

very good advice on not running the engine

until you are sure any rags are not caught up...

I'd be checking every centimeter of the plumbing to/from the intercoolers and in the turbo itself... Hopefully you haven't done any damage:rolleyes:

Checked every pipe pulled my intercooler off no sight at all of any rags which is a good thing , I will pull off the dumps and check them for scrapes , which way is the correct way the splitter should sit they maybe around the wrong way?
