Hey, o2's look like real pains to pull out so... going to prostate 2moz and getting them to make 2 new locations for the o'2s to be installed, just before i do so i would just like some clarification that as long as they are both the same distance from engine it wont effect the readings ?? will most likely install them arround the same area the exhaust levels out.

    Will this be ok! ???

Just change them where they are. It's not that bad. Pull the battery for ODS

yeah they aren't bad where they are.. at least you can get them from up top, if you were to move them you'd have to get under the car and there's a chance they won't run hot enough for a proper reading.

thats just to get em to temp quicker.. only widebands can really be further away from the engine

to read correctly you need to have em as close to the engine as possible

Well the o2 on the battery side doesnt look to hard although there is limited space to get out a very tight o2.. and the other side is hidden by a brake booster.. id love to know where to find a tech article on it??? also if i do relocate for ease of replacement and its say an extra foot from the original, will that be close enough to still get the correct reading?
    thanks

Honestly, I don't think it's worth the hassle to relocate them IMO. You don't need to do it very often anyways. Replacing the driver's side is a pita but even still it's only somewhere between 30 mins to 2 hours depending how cooperative it is.

After soaking it in WD40, you need to smash the top off the old one, a long bar and a mallet should do that. Then remove it using a 19 or 22 mm socket. I think the original O2s were 19 mm. Replacements are 22mm. To screw in the new one, if you have long thin fingers you can get the thread to take from underneath the car and having someone on top lower it into place and direct you to it. If not, you can get the thread start by lowering the O2 into place and turning it by twisting the wire. As soon as the thread takes, you can tighten it up using the special tool, which is a long neck socket with a cutout for the wire. King Chrome make one for about $15-20.

When AUS300ZX comes up again, try Search.

    Cheers,

Hey Jesse, come to the tech day on Saturday and do them there with help. I think there are a few changing their 02's that day. Henpecked mentioned a special 02 removing tool???

Spray/soak them with WD40 for a few nights before you attemp to get them out.
Email me for Tech day info if you can make it .
    Caz.. :)

    Or buy a 19mm open-ender for $1 from Bunnings/SuperCrap - grind out to 22mm, cut, bend/modify to fit = *Z32o2/22.
