    Blipman Beer hooves totally work

Again posting in a new topic to keep threads small enough to be at least vaguelly manageable.

Trophy winners from the Coonabarabran 2006 Z-Fest Show and Shine:

Hard luck award: Baroo (Tim), who had a cracked standard wheel across the spoke which was discovered on the way up. Where it happened was a mystery, I've never seen anything like it.
Honourable mention: Fate (Shaun) who managed to have a battery die on him over the weekend.

Longest distance: 90Ztt (Karl). 2000 odd km from far north Queensland, what a rtooper.
Honourable mention: Cove (Neil) and partner who travelled around 1700km (?) and Audiobuzz (Jarrad) and brother Tim who came up from Adelaide.

Appreciation award:: K-Zed (Rob), not only for playing a big role in organizing the event (along with Lou who also deserves credit) as well as the many people he has helped over the weekend and before (and no doubt since) and generally being a great guy who selflessly helps out members always.

Encouragement award: Caz1, whose car the judges liked but didn't excel in any one particular field, and also whose love for her car is unparalleled, which in turn rubs off on others.

As Nissan Intended: DreamZed (John), for a very nice stock car (it even had the aftermarket exhaust and wheels removed previously!.
Honourable mention: there were many cars which were in the running for this, this was by far the most difficult category to judge with many nice stock or near stock Z's present.

Rice is Nice: Wizard (Ron), who, to be fair, didn't have a horribly tacky riced out Z, but had more gadgets than anyone else :)

Lowrdier: Andy Mac, with an average 4 corner ground to wheel arch height of 62.875cm
Honourable mentions: Hayles with 63.75cm, RZM with 63.6cm. Yes, we had to measure them with a tape measure.

Hot ICE (In Car Entertainment): Fate (Shaun) for his neato headunit and cutoms sub and box in the boot floor.

Top Engine Bay: Wizard (Ron), more bling per square inch than a De Beers display case.
    Honourable mention: Caz1

Top Exterior: OZ-300 (Peter), mmmmmm Godfather widebody goodness.

Top Interior: Oz-300 (Peter). Ex interior trimmer's demo car in Japan, nuff said.
    Honourable mention: Magic Mike

    Hoteliers' Choice: Hayles,

    Peoples' Choice: Wizard (Ron).

    Entrants' Choice: Wizard (Ron).

Entertainment Award: MaxsZ, wheel nuts donated by CazRacing. We had to shut him up somehow.

    Steve Millen book raffle: Matt?

A very big thanks goes out to the following people:
    - K-Zed (Rob) and Lou for organizing the event, enough props cannot be given guys. Also K-Zed for arranging the shirts and Cliff (Candu) for the logo.

    - Ports for donating the prizes for the golf comp, they were most impressive.

    - BlackBaz for MC'ing the presentation dinner and organizing the golf

    - I actually don't know her name, but a local Zedder donated a standard wheel and tyre to Baroo to help him get back home (he'll then courier it back to her), what a great contribution. She owned/managed the local Subway so we all tucked in to the hearty Subway subs over the weekend as thanks :)

    - Ron (Wizard) who donated a book by Steve Millen, autographed by the man himself to aus300zx.com. This was raffled and raised $192 for the forum.

    - Lou and Rich0 for helping me with the judging

    - Unique Autosports and the very handsome gents at J-Spec Imports :) for sponsoring the Show and Shine.

    - I'm sure I've missed some people, if I have my apologies, someone else jump in and give them a mention :)

Can someeone please poost the golf comp results, it was blackbaz all the way (suspicious, I agree :) ) but I don't know all the categories etc

Also can someone post a scan of the newspaper article?

If you didn't have a good time over the weekend you just straight up weren't at Coona, the humdrum of regular boring life now is almost too difficult to bare by comparison....

Next year.... RZM was saying Winton or something???

Its not signed sealed and delivered yet Franz,

but Winton is my bet ....

    Phillip Island - too expensive.
Sandown - 99% certain to be holding 2007 Easternats.
Calder - This year held the 1st Muscle Car Nats over Easter, which to my way of thinking is a direct conflict with the Easternats. If Calder repeats next year, rule them out. However, our club is developing a relationship with Calder having held 3 events there in the last year.

Winton is whats left. If the 2001 format is used as a guideline, as well as track time at Winton, there is also the possibility of tests at the DECA centre in Shepparton - and Shep was used as the motel base.

Will advise on here and by PM when info is known.

    90TTZ Back From The Dead

    Coona funny moment involving Oni.....

For those of you that know Geoff he's a great dude with a different sort of Zed with the wild bonnet scoop and Jap markings on the front fenders. He will also remind you he's a public servant on bugger all pay ;)

On the Saturday some of us were talking about Auto Tranny valve body mods and difference it makes from the sloppy stock configuration. Geoff then asked me to go for a ride in his Zed and see if his transmission was slipping or just a sloppy stocker.

Now the funny bit. We get onto the road outside the Matthew Flinders and he stabs the go pedal. Boost climbs to 13PSI and the backend shudders whilst the tach proceeds to 7 grand.

The very serious Oni looks at me and asked me what I think (very seriously) I laughed and then asked if he was pulling my leg cause I then informed him that was the most impressive bit of tyre frying I have seen from a stock Auto Zed with just a stab of the go pedal.

With a little victory cheer from Oni, we head back to the motel. However, Geoff wanted a second opinion and took the Wizard for a run and ask his opinion since he drives a high HP auto Zed. When they got back Geoff continued his victory dance.
