depends on how much you need and also if its manual or auto.

I have been trying to sell my NA for a while ( not too hard though) and havent had any bites.

    i reckon $12,000 is overpriced

from $10,000 and under would be reasonable.

    I disagree.

If its in good condition then 12K is very reasonable. Best thing to do is always ask the higher price and the market will decide what its worth.

    Pricing

But if you price too high then no-one will bite and when you reduce the price people will take advantage of the time taken to sell thae car and that its been on the market so long they make unreasonable offers, that is what has happened to me while trying too sell my magna i started too high and now its been on the market so long noone even bothers calling cos they assume there is something wrong with it... does anyone want a magna.

    Selling Z

With the new P plate laws (Or at least in NSW) it would be good to sell to younger drivers. As they are not allowed TT's or v8's =)(brothers 89 n/a s13 was offered 5k trade in) Not sure about QLD though.

i was in teh same boat as you. tried to sell it for 11. had a couple of people come look at it and a few people ask over the phone. Decided to just buy a front cut of a TT and get that put in. After i bought the frotn cut and had the engine out a guy called up saying he'd give me the money cash for my car, but it was too late lol had just taken it off the site (was only advertised on carsales)

Re: i reckon $12,000 is overpriced

12K is not overpriced considering the basket cases I see many people turning up here with at a "bargain price" they then spend 6K to get it right.

Fact is if you want a car to sell price it accordingly.

I would be happy with between 9K and 10K for my NA. The car is flawless and has had a heap of work done on it.

You just have to get people to phone. Once they are here my car would be an easy sell compared to many others.

Once the decison is made to sell just GET IT DONE AND GONE. IMHO

Heavily modded cars are always going to be an issue as people dont value mods as they should. You will always lose money.

dont think thats overpriced for a well maintained clean na zed...

if its in good shape and looks and is maintained like a zzed should then its a good price...

like tek said u pay for wat u get these daiis...u buy a zed 7grand expect a couple of grand to fix wateva may come up...pay 12ish and u should be getting a zed which just needs ur hands on the steering wheel...

when i was buying my Zed i looked at a NA for $11,800

it was pretty clean all round, but i ended up buying a TT instead. But, it lived near me and i saw it advertised on the side of the road for months! i saw it again on carsales and he dropped the price to $11,000, then $10,500, then $10,200.i'm not sure how much he ended selling it for, but it's not there anymore

I think it's just a matter of waiting for the right person to come along who knows what they want. If you're desperate to get rid of it or need the cash, just advertise it and wait for someone to pay you what you want!

    Benny_C About as subtle as...

Exactly. If you are in no major rush, you can really pick up a bargain...

Just as said before, if you go out one day with the intention of picking up a Zed that day, you won't have much to compare to.
But if you hang out for weeks/months if not in a hurry, one day you'll probably see the bargain of the century and potentially save yourself thousands on a quality Zed, depending on the sellers circumstances.

    Good luck though...
