Hey all... Had the hicas light come on a few weeks ago - late at night, so I bought some at the next servo and topped it up... All good - I've had to do this once before in 12 months... However, we did a drive to Coboolture 2day and the hicas light came on again. We were nearly to where we were going so I drove thru it. When we stopped I checked the level and it was very nearly full (so it looked)... 20 mins of a cool down and I turned the car on to see if the hicas light was still and it was not  Upon heading home the bloody light came on again along the highway  Haven't added any more liquid as yet - I'm going to wait until the engine is fully cold and see what the level is like... No obvious major leaks... Any input anyone???:unsure:
hicas my light comes on everyday.Stays on for 5mins than turns off. They tell me that the wires on the cap might be touching where u cant see them.Hope there write!!
Check the Tech Section under poltergeists - everyone's HICAS light comes on at wierd times because they are haunted. Mine comes on after 5 minutes of driving at over 80kmh, never otherewise. If your fluid level is OK, put it down to another paranormal HICAS experience. Cheers:zlove: Barry
my light never used to come on but... since I installed my new steering wheel it comes on everytime i drive. I think its bacause I got a non Hicas compatible boss kit.
Hey Cliff, I always wondered about the centering of the HICAS locator behind the steering wheel. Because my boss kit was off an R33 skyline with hicas, and I had to slightly mod it to fit the Z32 hicas. I wasn't sure that the hicas lugs were perfectly centered, but it drives perfectly and no hicas warning lights or anything. so does this mean no worries?? Or does the hicas have to be a certain amount off-centre for a warning light to come on??? **sorry for hi-jacking your thread Mike**
My understanding Benny is... if the wheel is off-centre the HICAS thinks it's going round a really long bend even though the car is going straight - and so the warning light is triggered by the ecu - reasoning that no bend in the world could be kilometres long.
I have had a couple of times where I thought the steering felt 'different' Also, it may have something to do with the boss cause I put that in myself  I'll have to get a zxpert to look it over :zlove:
