I thought i saw a post about this recently...

What would be the benefits of removing the carbon canister? Other than again simplifying things (The never ending story....da da da...)
Would it be dangerous with build up of fuel pressure or anything?

one of it main purpose is to vent your fuel tank

into the inlet side of the motor.

If you remove the canister you then have to work out a way to scrub the air going into your fuel tank to remove all the water vapour out of it. Or you can just put up with the condensation in your tank.

why not tuck into a rear guard out of your sight.

How long have you had it removed for?

    Any reliability issues?
    Starting issues?

if you want to get rid of the lines it would be only one line in the engine

bay, all the rest are basically on the cannister. there is a write up link somewhere just do a search. wat you would do is piss off the cannister and the venting line that runs all the way to the fuel tank. get the one way valve from near the cannister and route this near the back somewhere. easy to do if you want to lose the cannister. another useless piece of crap in my opinion.

then move the vent line from the tank

    to a spot near the rear of the car. Pop a filter in the line and a restrictor to keep the pressure in the tank. {I would imagine a 0.8 welding tip would be fine for this.}
When placing the outlet of the tank breather line be wary of explosive and smelly gases that are released from then line. So don't put it next to the exhaust of ignition source and dont' put it near the vent louvres in the rear quarter panels.

Or seal the line and put a vented EFI fuel cap on the tank.... they are very hard to find though.

From my understanding it vents the fumes back into the plenum

Venting to atmosphere would there be any issues re fumes/smell etc

    Carbon Cannister Removed

I have removed mine using this info. car runs fine with no problems with starting etc. etc. but have noticed a slight fuel smell coming from in front of the radiator so extending the fuel tank brether line to the back of the car is my next little joby;)

    Cheers

Not legal, and will smell off petrol!

Its there for a reason, vent the F/tank and send vapours for a reburn, Id hate to have to put it back in! :)

    Got them removed

I had to remove them so to make room for Lambo doors hinges:thumbsup:. The cannisters are not needed. Its recommended that you block the end hoses, as to avoid any fuel smells ar gurgling sound. I can't believe they put that crap their on the fender:thumbsdown:.
