There have been a few indiscreet posts of late relating to illegal activities and their conquests.
For the good of all, these posts, in my opinion, should be kept off this forum, as this place is monitored by our uniformed friends.
We all know how well performed the Zed is, so there is no need to brag about it, in this manner, here.
There is a section here for 'post events', which is used by those of us who partake in the legal form of motorsport.
These results are what count, not any other form. Take your battles to the track and you'll get an official time slip that you can then tell us about with pride.

Meh, if they are willing to risk the consequences, I say go for it.

Anyone ever heard of a prosecution based on words on a forum?

quiet a few prosecutions due to people shooting their mouth on a forum

Just a few are that I know about come from Silva site { any wonder why there!} aus.motorcycle , Guzzi list , Ducati lists just to start. Most harassment come from defects followed by event crashes from Mr Plod.

The VTD function works well you just got to learn how to press it.

Mind you it does get tiring have to press it for every time Chilli posts. :p   :| :(

    No, they haven't, >>

but that doesn't mean that it can't happen.
Don't give our friendly boys in blue a reason & they won't take to hounding any Zed that they see driving along, because someone else has bragged about dragging/racing some other vehicle down the street.
We already know that all Car Forums are monitored by the Police, so why give them a reason to follow us or pull us up, so they can check under the hood for any mods that they suspect could be lurking there.
A little bit of common sense will stand us all in good stead & they just might see us as responsible car enthusiasts.
As Ports has already stated, if you want to race, do it safely on the Race Track where there are organised events.
    Cheers
    Kerry

thanks ports and keza ... backs up a few observations that i have

posted .. my point is that these types of posts simply draw the boys in blue towards our cruiZe days ... and in my 12 months forum experience, there have been any number of such examples up here during QLD cruizes... it is a major pain in the arse when your cruiZe is accompanied by a patrol car just waiting to swoop!!!:thumbsdown::(:(:(:(:(

not only the cruises, we don't need this type of image in our

community. Last thing any of us want is to be labelled purely cause of the cars we choose to drive. Unfortunately the community as a whole has a problem distinguishing the difference between hoon and enthusiast... probably why the NSW state govt does so little to support motor sport in the first place...

We al know that majority of us have probably broken the law here or there and we can't be classified as saints and we all know it... but at the same time there is no need to put that out for the everyone else to make irrational judgements about us.... happy Z'din all

For those in blue monitoring this Forum...

I drove my Nissan 300ZX sensibly today! I didn't exceed the speed limit even once. I was courteous, and deferential to other road-users.
I have to admit to one aberration, though. I pulled up at a set of lights, in the left hand of two right-turn lanes. I was sitting waiting for the lights to indicate that I could proceed, when a P-plater in a white VN Commie pulled up alongside, in the right-hand right-turn lane. Doof-doof, fully-fully, you know the type. Anyway, he revs his engine. "Hmmm," thinks I, "He wants to play!" So I rev my engine. He revs, I rev, and so on. Lights change, and I do... nothing. He, on the other hand, floors it around the corner, max wheelspin and noise. I give it 5 seconds, then proceed in a quiet and orderly manner around the corner and up the hill. 500 meters up the road, there's Mr P-plater being booked by one of your good selves.
    Have a nice Day!

It would be nice to have a forum

where everyone is united against criminal behaviour (afterall, street racing is a crime). We still get people congradulating when the zed wins which does nothing but encourage people to repeat it which is against forum guidelines afterall. (perhaps we should add an additional point to the forum guidelines which also includes bragging about street racing and the like, not just encouraging it).

But if next time someone posts about their street racing (or any illegal) adventure, everyone should give them a good kick in the arse and VTD the offending post, it shouldn't last too long. This forum is for enthusiasts, not punks doped up on too much testosterone. (well I like to think so).

oh wow, the men in blue actually posted!! well boys, thats the last time

i ever brag about a win on a public road.
*places halo firmly above head, sprouts wings*
i know im a culprit of the 'i beat my mates vy ss' post every now and then, im not gonna say i havent drag raced on public roads, (i got caught racing, and subsequently lost my lisence for 12 months, and $1063 fine) i've learnt my lesson, and the cops are just doing what they are paid to do, so from now on, for the good of the forum, as it has done me so much good with usefull information, and those on the forum who extend their hands out to help when im in need, i'll VTD every single hoon thread, and encourage others to do so, to keep the face of the forum clean!
*slams down his cup of red cordial, ahhhhhh!*

I'm in agreement with you Peter, but in addition to this....

there is also the issue of having "detailed" modification and performance information in Profiles.
Now, this is almost as good as advertising that our cars are modified - and illegal in most cases. It would be just as easy for Mr Plod to flip through some "regulars" profiles and keep info at hand ready to do a "random" vehicle inspection. And it's a bit more expensive to have conviscated and having to restore to legal stock condition to drive again... - then to cop a ticket for burnouts, etc.

While it's a bit childish and frowned apon to post your "Bragging Rights" of dragging accomplishments. (and I aggree totaly on these posts) - It may in the same token be an issue to "Brag" about vehicle modifications under our Profiles.
Which is a shame because I love going through peoples' profiles to see what people can to with mods, etc... :zlove:

    Just a thought.

    Blue and red...

According to you, sports car drivers are more likely to drink and drive than Falcodore drivers. I can go along with many wanting to use the power on the street but you're talking out of your arse with the drunk driver comment.

And you try to give the impression that the 'hasseling' of Fate was some kind of master plan orchistrated by reading his posts on this forum. It was simply cos his local cops knew his car and didn't like him ( "hey theres that smart arse with the red 300 and F-40 wing, lets get him").

I know the cops do look at the coming events sections, and occasionally crash them, but they don't have the man-power or resorces to single out individual members.

And my opinion, if someone wants to post about a traffic light drag, go for it! S long as you don't promote or brag about anything illegal.

Afterall....we only ever drag up to the legal speed limit, right? :p

    Just an observation

I believe it is good to discuss this topic in an open forum and I'm glad to see mixed responses.
Reading through Blue and Red's post, I would suggest that it is more of a generic response, that would be posted on most forums like ours.
And that the reference to D/Driving is, I think, testament to that.
As to our profiles making interesting reading, some people have already removed their 'list of mods'.
I know it's a sad inditement on society that we think this way, but unfortunately, it is the way of things at present.
While , admittedly, I sometimes get the urge to accerlerate hard, I'm always aware of my immidiate terminal speed and how this relates to the legal limit.
I love so much to drive my Zeds, that I won't take a risk of losing that privilege, even if my pride is wounded by some hack in a commonwhore.
