I'm a born skeptic but has anyone really proved that they DONT work?

If these relatively simple units really worked wouldn't car manuf's use them?
But if they're a total scam, wouldn't it be more widely acknowleged that it's all BS?
I'm undecided about all these type of gadgets, would like to see some 'true' independant tests on them.

A guy at work uses a fuel star and swore he gets about +80ks per tank from his Pintara. He's a realist and practical kinda bloke and also a registered motor mechanic. But still i wonder did he subconciously baby the throttle after he fitted it? Another Pintara owner at work (with same model) was gonna get one and see what happens. Hope he does, would be interesting.

    on something like..

an old non crossflow falcon or a rocket red motor..
sure anything that helps atomize the fuel and help out the what is it "7 stage" zennith stromberg fuel metering device... has got too be a good thing...

ps and even on the V6 commodores before they put in the deflector plate just after the throttle body, they used to run short of air on the rhr cylinder, as the throttle body was never intended to be at 90 deg from the manifold, the 3.8 was originaly front wheel drive.. one of these puppies might help in situations like that.. ;)
