Re: do you know how many kw that it ended up with?

Nope ... but I would except the same KWrw as a "standard" TT, but a lot better throttle response and better torque curve down low.

Do a search on VH45 ... you will find pictures of it in a zed, and if you search hard enough you will find engine component pictures and even wiring diagrams and measure diagrams (I have a full collection)

A search will reveal how much work is involved ... I did investigate it quite significantly, but the $15k price tag to do properly ended that plan.... Maybe a Lotto or Powerball win away.

    re: 15k price tag

Did you get a quote and thats how much it costed, or is this just an estimate from the other guy who put it in...

It's a very interesting concept, a v8 would be killer in a zed...I wonder what would be more expensive this VH45 or supercharging...

You gotta admit the zed engine sounds pretty tough, but me always wanted a v8...

so all the info you collected, did you get from the guy who has done it? is he the only one thats done it?

I honestly believe supercharging would be an easier option, all it would need is upgraded fuel system, upgraded gearbox (say stage 3), upgraded internals (lower compression) custom brackets, an intercooler and custom piping, and remapped ecu.

I reckon this would be easier than a whole engine conversion which would be an absolute sl*T in terms of labour and modification...

    what you reckon?

in theory a supercharger is a good idea

but traditionally they are used on bigger engines because they tend to sap power pretty badly, and most times that makes it a bit of a waste on a smaller displacement engine.

    yeah...i know what your saying

it is a good idea in theory...

after my exams are finished...ill go see a few places and tell them what I plan to do, and how much they think it will cost.. if i think is worth it will go ahead...if not i have a backup plan

spend $10k on engine rebuild and try and get 250kw at the fly that way...

    At the bare minimum...

you will lose your aircon OR a sizeable chunk of your bonnet, not to mention the sizeable chunk missing from your hip pocket :(

What about supercharging the infinity Q45 V8 in the zed?

    Cheers

    well yeah...

its gonna be expensive no doubt about that:zlove:

but i look at it this way...i got one of the best looking cars on the road today, its in the colour i like...so if Im going to do anything up it might as well be this. These things drive beautiful...

The NA is too slow though... and Ive always wanted to supercharge a car...

seems like a good setup to me...

At the end of the day once it's all done I should have the best of both worlds, a quick and sexy supercharged car, ...everything I always wanted from a car...

This is the way I look at it anyway...
