    Hi Guys,

I was driving my car last night (slightly on the hard side ;)) stopped to get some subway - letting idle for 2mins on teh turbo timer - came back out to drive off with my sandwitch and no no positive pressure!! OMG

i can still hear the turbos spinning up (its got aftermarket turbos so they are pretty loud) - i checked the i/c pipes and they all seem in order and the car still seems to run normally off boost - this may have something to do with running a Microtech LTX12 with a map sensor i guess.

Turning the EVC on doesnt help either (if it was a stuck wastegate or something like that).

Any thing else to check? I guess i will have to do a leakdown check  but to do this since im running two airfilters i will have to block them both off wont i?

    Stock gauge?

the stock gauge is not the most acurate or reliable, try borrowing someone's boost gauge to test.

Or just buy an aftermarket boost gauge?

You don't need a gauge to tell you there is no boost ;)

Could be a vacuum line off at the RHS at the back

just to the side of the brake booster. Top left in this pic.

If its a vacuum line off you should be able to hear a loud hissing when the

car is running. I suggest you do a boost leak test anyway

If the wastegates were stuck open, wouldn't you still have some +ive boost pressure?

I have a switch that disconnects power to my unichip X Controller (boost controller), which opens up both wastegates, and hence gives me saftey boost (great if you want to drive in fuel saver mode!!). That is about 6 PSI for me.

Could be a recirc or bov stuck open

I've had this before when one of my stock recirc valves got stuck in the open position.

Couldn't hear a hiss at idle and couldn't make any boost but otherwise car ran "ok".

Stuffed bov could cause similar problem I guess.

That might explain the noisy turbo spool sounds too??

No bovs arent stuck they have been replaced with turbosmart supersonic type 3s

I have more than the stock boost gauge anyway .. i have an HKS boost gauge and EVC

Leak test on my car requires me to pull teh front off :( because i have two filters where teh stock intercoolers usually sit :( that i have to block off ... turbos were noisey when it did work .. they are HKS units

If it was just a vacuume hose then it will still get boost as they are only small

one of the bovs is still making a faint flutter at 0 bar but it sounds like the right hand side unit isnt spooling at all
