I was wondering if anyone know's if it is worth while getting an twin 2 1/2 inch exhaust from the cat back? How much extra kw do you think i would get?

If you are still running the stock exhaust you can pick up extra power

cheaply by grinding out the restrictors in front of the crossover.

Undo the pipes behind the cats and you will see in the front of the crossover that your 2" pipe is fitted with a sleeve necked to 1.1/2".

Took about 5 minutes on each with a die grinder to remove.

Yes and at least 80% of the Kw gain can be had by removing these..>>

restrictors compared to the gain an aftermarket cat-back exhaust would give you on a relatively stock ZX.

This might sound stupid but how do you get under your car to get at these? Apart from taking to a place with a car lifter thing.

If you have an aftermarket cat back system

the restrictors won't be there will they. As everything from the cats back has been replaced. Unless your system is from the crossover back. In which case grind away.

    Lifting the car

If I want to look at my ehaust etc I personally lift the car from the diff with a trolley jack, then you can get some jack stands under there.

It is not safe to crawl around under your car if it's only supported with a jack, no matter how sturdy the jack may appear.

To get under the front I generally lift with a scissor jack, then trolley jack under the front cross member, then jack stands. It's a dog of a job but my car's too low to fit a trolley jack under.
