Have you tryed running a scan over the web through symantec...

sometimes the trojan will stop the program from running, if you run the virus check through symantec online it might get rid of it, if you go there and try and run it and it stalls every time then yea, very bad. Format time.

    Cheers

    Easy peasy....

I hope you've got broadband though.....

    www.trendmicro.com/housecall

Do the dual spyware/antivirus online scan.

    Then download cwshredder and run
Then download/install MS Antispyware (remember in setup to tell NOT to join the spyware community - its about the 3rd question you have to answer)..... then run the update and scan

    FIXED - easy

Do a full scan on ALL files

A lot of trojans hide in non-executable files. My daughter got one and I ended up finding it lurking in a .txt file.
    See Ya,

if you know the exact name of the trojans that are causing the problem

then get onto norton site and when you do a search through thier list of virus's they usually have an induvidual download that can be run to eradicate the problem.... like a mini virus scan but it only concentrates on that particular little bugger.

    Try spybot..

Spybot is a good program to run..
If not, go to start, run, type regedit, click on hkey_local_machine and try to find your 'trojan viruses' through there.
Better than re-starting computer via windows safe-mode would be by selecting exactly what it is you want for it to start up.
Go to start -> run -> msconfig -> startup tab and untick everything you don't want when starting your computer.
Can I assume you're running winxp?

*note* playing with your registry is very dangerous and deadly. You can do serious harm to your configuration if you delete something wrong. Do so at your own risk.

I don't use windows, so am not sure of what the problem could be, however are you sure they are trojans? what are your simptoms?
Let me know and I'll see if there is something else..
For now, I think spybot would be your best bet.
    Google it.

    Use an Open Shell AV

eg: Clam AV and that will report what you really have on your machine other than this BS paid for stuff!!

Get it to report, find files, delete them and run it again. Alternatively set it to delete anything it finds. Then, No Trojans.
Don't edit registry if you don't know what to do!!

    ok use google for:

    - cwshredder and run it.

also try downloading AVG antivirus, worth a try. it's free, install it then make sure it downloads critical and virus definition updates straight away and reboot. after that make it do a full system scan. you can delete/quarantine whatever it finds.

    good luck.

    stop downloading sexybabes.exe :p

    Format C:

    There.

I just said what no one would even whisper! :)

I've formatted my C Drive that many times...it doesn't even exist anymore. If you can't find a solution to removing the virus, get some DVD's/CD-R's out and start backing up your important stuff...because it's time to format.

Think of it as de-tox for your PC. It will thank you for it later on...trust me!

    Re: what's a trojan ?

Are the infected files "super hidden" I wonder? (don't laugh there is such a thing as a super hidden file attribute). I am sure Microsoft go out of theor way to make it easy for hackers and the like to wreck our data.

Start with the Windows CD, go to the recovery console and delete them there.

Recovery console is a text console, like DOS.
If you are familiar with it, it's easy to use.

    EVERYONE SHOULD GET VET ANTIVIRUS

It's the best anti-virus software on the market.

It's cheap to purchase, and NOTHING gets past it.

They are based in WA and have regular updates WEEKLY.

Have been running this software for over 12 months both at work and at home. Never had a problem. Keep in mind that at work we have to download all different Drivers and software programs. Sites that are riddled with virus's and so forth. Vet stops them in their tracks and lets you know that they were there.

Get it and get rid of your Virus's.
