    Hi all,

This is a Z/Non Z related question ........ the battery actually died in my other car (don't ask what it is, but it's old and sloooow), so I've borrowed the battery out of the Zed.

But there's an upside .... I now get to buy a brand new, top quality one for the Zed. I've noticed some Zedders have a completely sealed battery - Exide or something.

What do you recommend and roughly how much??

    cheers,

    Peter

    Thanks all.

I was considering the Oddysey 800 or 1000 - tops out at about $385m for the 1000, or the Optima (left info on this battery at work, so can't remember model), but priced at $429. I ended up with the Supercharge MF80D26l 660ca (?) at $154 (or $132 mates rates). Prices are from the Battery Factory in ACT.

It turns out I know the manager - what luck - and he asks me a series of questions about driving habits, accessories etc, like, how often do I drive the car (answer daily), am I often in remote areas (answer NO), do I use the stereo lots without the engine running (answer NO), What other equipment do I run etc etc.

He then recommends the Supercharge. I must say I like his honesty. I was quite prepared to pay the $400.00+, but have bought the the Supercharge. Obviously it's not an equal to the Oddysey or Optima units, but from what was said, still a reasonable sealed unit, plus, I can go through 2 and still have money in the bank.

I guess I'll find out how long it lasts.

cheers, and thanks again for the info.

    Peter
