I am looking at upgrading my turbos...considering units from a GTR, Stock RB26Dett GTR T3/T25 turbos to be exact....my question/s are 1:is there a difference in physical size to prevent fittment 2: how will there effect driverbility and 3: Will I get worthwhile performance increase from them?

    Thanks,
    Nigel

    turbos

i dont know about fitment but standard r32 & r33 GTR turbos have ceramic turbines which are known to spin off the shaft and cause heaps of damage.

go with s15 turbo's some modification will be needed im guessing to your manifolds and u will need a new set of dump pipes

ask John (Unique Zed) as he had these fitted to his slot car

DONT GET THEM!!! THEY WONT FIT

I bought some, pulled engine out, tried to fit and NOPE! They wont bolt up. And by the way lots of people will tell you they'll fit but they wont. And if you try you will find yourself spending heaps cause the exhaust housing needs to be changed to a different variant. Buy some Garret 320HP turbos. Work a treat - have them on my car u should b able to get hese for bout $2500 but then u need to get them rearranged for oil returns etc, and you'll need new inlet piping designed and dumps.

    Egg ....

    GTR turbos fit.

A spacer maybe and a lil friggin' around but they certainly do fit.
    I agree though GT28R a better option and only $700USD a piece.

    Yeah S15's go on pretty easy. S15 = GT28
GT28RS aka disco potato's are they way to go though.

    What about the GT25R's.....?

I know they are smaller but are rated @ 240hp and have heard that thier response is better than std.
My power target is around 260rwkw without going over 1 bar boost.

Well when I investigated turbo options the price from a GT25 > GT28 was about $250 a turbo.

    GT25R where around $1500
    GT28R where around $1750
    GT28RS where around $1850

    Re: What about the GT25R's

The current price for both the GT25R and GT28R turbos is the same @ US$775.00
My main concern is not wanting to go the GT25R way and find they are just too small.
Am I better to go to the GT28R? .... but am concerned about turbo lag.
