I just cleaned throttle bodys, all good there. Damn hard to get those hoses off. Fingers so sore:sick:
But i have another issue that I heard last night and today when starting the car. There is a winey noise coming some where in the car for some reason it comes more from the right hand side, cant work out where. Im not sure if its something to do with the HICAS, because the light has been coming on, would the HICAS make a weird noise if there was something wrong.
I hope its not a turbo, no blue smoke coming out of the exhaust.
The noise dosent seems so bad after the car warms up.
The steering pump would make a noise like that tho wouldnt it?

Please help. If not is okay im takeing it to a mechanic tomorrow, but anything that may help would be great.

    Blipman Beer hooves totally work

It could be the power steering pump

if it gets fairly low on fluid (which would make the HICAS light go on) the pump will start to whine. Spend $10 on some new fluid and top it up, see if the sound disappears.

    The sound seems...

To get quiter as the car gets warmer, I found a few drops of power steering fluid on the ground, would the steering pump be on the drivers side of the engine bay, also this is a weird thing hard to explain, when the car goes into accesories or is started I get a pop or a bump come from the rear, i think it might be coming from the HICAS, its like I just dropped the clutch and stalled the car, but not as extreme.
Also if anyone would know when car is in accessories is the turbo gauge needle suppose to be in the centre, when it starts it goes to the far left. Damn I wish i had a car manual, someone out bidded me on ebay for a 300zx original manual its up over $41.

Thanks for all the replys guys

90% sure it's the power steering pump. I had the same symptoms, and refilled power steering fluid after that being suggested and it fixed the problem.. It took heaps of fluid though.
