Hi Zed Fans, My beautiful 89 300ZX TT Fairlady has a temperature. A carbon dioxide tester on her radiator turned yellow indicating a blown head gasket and possibly warped heads. I need an engine out top end overhaul, heads machined, valve regrind, new gaskets, water pump, themostat, timing belt replaced, turbo kit etc and will probably buy the parts from TTZ in Vic. But I would appreciate any advice on who to take the car to in Brisbane for this work. Also any suggestions on parts replacement and or inspections while the engine is out. The clock says 81,000 kilometres which could be right. Wishing you all a happy new year 2005. JimD

AMEC come highly recommended, although ... ... my experience was with Clint & Scott. Both worked for Nissan guru Gavin Wood & were lured up to PROLINE, brand new high-tech workshop, specialising in high performance.
2nded on Amec, Tell Emmanual you were sent "via the forum" You may have to wait to get to see him, but it's worth the wait...Otherwise try Robs suggestion of Proline or Gavin Wood. A flat bed tow truck shouldn't cost much...
I go to BR Motor Sport , Oxley Colin is very friendly and they do (almost) Only 300'z Also I found them Extremely well priced. ps. I have never been anywhere else with my Z... Not wanting to start a shitfight as mentioned on an earlier post, I would recommend both Emanuel or Colin Brodie as both have worked on my car and both are very experienced on Zeds. I think you should consider the time you may have to wait to get either of them to look at your car as a consideration rather than experience. As all Zed mechanics in Brisbane that are recommended via this site are good. I would perhaps suggest to all forum members to put their mind into gear before posting messages, as several of the recommend people also read this website and have and maybe still are members. i dont trust many workshops these days !! im going to be very careful before i leave my car anywhere these days id rather do as much work myself as possible as at least i know how i have done something and that i have done it..
