It was written off, all that damage done by a curb :eek: the frame was completly twisted, all 4 wheels were snapped clean off behind the discs, major supports in the car were torn open, it was quite bad, my head went through the drivers side window and I had 6 stitches in my head :( Seems my plans never go ahead the way I want them too... am I cursed??:thumbsup:

Ahhh well, the best thing about it all is I was insured, so Ive already bought my new car... although... Ive managed to further distance myself from all of you :embarrassed: This is my new car..

    How it happened

It haden't rained here in QLD for quite some time, coming home from picking sarah up at 5am it had started to rain very lightly (like a mist) making the road incredibly slippery, As I came around a slight curve in the road about 15k's under the speed limit, the back end just completly snapped around on me (the investigators think due to their being quite big ripples in the road) but basically I was thrown instantly sideways, and hit a curb, traction control was on..

    Heheh thanks man :)

Not thinking of a change are you? :p

It was $40,000, the ad actually said $30,000 but it was a misprint, after seeing the car though it was an oppertunity not to be missed..

Its an Original motor L82 1978 limited edition silver anniversary, its had the conversion to RHD done, its an auto, just come out of a ground up restoration, it has a new Pearl orange paint job, and a new custom leather interior, Its a 350 V8 (5.7L), the head was rebuilt and it has had some mild cam work done, there is a new radiator, new Rubbers 275's on the rear with a 15" rim.. lol its allllll side wall :LOL:

Yes I bought it locally, I found it here on the gold coast, actually the car was used at Indy, it was one of the vettes that did the victory lap with one of the V8 Supercar drivers in it, the guy is only selling it because he need a deposit for his new apartment

Insurance is the best thing of all, even though the car is more expensive, and I just wrote off the supra, the Vette is $1350 a year on rating 3!!:eek::eek::eek:

    heheh thanks man

Its a 1978 limited edition 25th silver anniversary edition, so set to go up in price in a big way :D these cars are investments not like the supra

They stopped calling it a stingray in 77, it was only ever a badge that chevy added to the car, there were no other options, the 78 was also the first aero redesign, the back became wrap around glass with a fastback roof line

Hey man, any chance of interior pics a little later?

Ive bought a few corvettes for the WA market over here in Japan , but ive never actually seen one converted to RHD, so im really interested in the quality of the dash conversion.

    Would really appreciate it.

    Cheers

    Corvette

Zac How does this car handle, in relation to the steering, I drove one for a short distance and the steering was very heavy, plus inside the cabin was hot from the engine, irrespective Iam very envious of your new ride:thumbsup:

    Steering and handling

was very good, steering was responsive and not too light, good transferral of information through the wheel, the car handled very well, could feel a bit more body roll than the supra or the Z, and the effects of having a 15 inch rim, as the rubber had a HUUUGE side wall :p:LOL:

Inside the cabin wasn't really hot, although I wouldent have known because the targa tops were off  although this vette has a new radiator and has been retrofitted with thermo fans, new plush carpeting, the Big block model has big problems with overheating though..

This one has Power steering, power brakes, positrac diff and brand new tyres so if any vette can handle, its this one :D:thumbsup::cool:

    Performance?

I wouldn't imagine it would be able to keep up with the supra though?
