Thinking of a bit of touching up inside the zed...

i cant decide on a colour as its red the choice isnt easy...

    white- gets dirty too easy
    black- seems too boring
red- sorry rob but for me its too much red

    any help???

also anyone know of any interior trimming sites, im looking for "How Too" sort of stuff as ive never done it before...

Hey Rob (rob32z) can you have a look for one of those kits you bought, i looked through ebay and cant seem to find anything, if you find a link please let me know.

Gotta say I'm with you, there is such a thing as too much red (sorry Rob). Some areas such as gearshift and handbrake boots can be highlighted with red stitching, but even that was too much for me. I prefer muted greys or charcoals, but I will admit that a tan or beige interior would look OK in a red Z. Try imagining this 350Z seat colour as a trim.

So how does this ebay kit look?

Does it look like a proper re-trim or just dodgey?

    I'm pretty interested!

    rob32z has the kit already,

i saw it on sunday at the adelaide tech day and i liked it..looks nice and from what he said it was a good buy, he had a problem with the doors as the hole for the seatbelt anchors was not right...

    rob should have more info...

PICS (big) and info here for those who were interested

Had no problems with the seller, the kit arrived reasonably quickly and intact.

As for problems, just make sure that you get the correct door panels as the ones I got were for different doors with the seatbelt cutout section at the bottom being slightly too far back. I do not know if this is because it was for a 2+2 instead of a 2 seater, or whether the seatbelt location for US zeds are slightly back. If all else fails, see if he can send 2 large sections of the trim that arent cut to shape, that way if you take it to a trimmer he can cut his own from the vinyl. I say this because the vinyl is a US vinyl and the trimmer I went to could not match the colour and the grain exactly as there are hundreds of different varieties and ours over here appear to be different. The vinyl I went with is the same grain but has a black tinge so my door panels are slightly different to the rest of the
    trim.

As for the exact colour, I am not exactly sure which one I picked, but assume it is just the standard RED.

Attached are some pics of mine that I took today.

    Hope this helps,
    Regards,
    ROB32Z

p.s. Pete I would go for a Tan colour (if you don't go for RED that is)

    Blipman Beer hooves totally work

    Some questions Rob

I have some leather that I was going to cut to shape and use to trim my interior. Was the kit essentially pieces cut to an approximate shape that you then fit and cut, or were they a proper shape that required no cutting? Just trying to work out if I can learn anything from the kits that would give me some ideas on what the best approach will be....
