As some of you may know i went to the Lexmark Indy 300 as some at the VIC dyno day noticed the shirt i was wearing. :p

Its the first time i have been to the Indy and it was fantastic:thumbsup: So i thought i share some photos i'd taken on race day.
I was supposed to meet up with some QLD members, but as things turned out i didnt have access to a computer in QLD to get zed4lifes mobile number.

    But anywayz the story continues.....

My dad lives in Mermaid beach so instead of driving to Surfers we decided to walk along the beach, just a bit of exercise and to my amazement the first thing i see as i step onto the beach is a topless female sunbaking  now i knew i was in warm sunny QLD, not at Sunnyside beach near Frankston VIC

From Mermaid beach to Surfers its about a 6km walk and the view looked like this.....

Such a great start to the day then half way i noticed something else, the pre-race entertainment of a squadron of roulette planes flying around and around

So after about an 1 and a half hour walk we finally got to the entrance and decided to find a spot to watch the V8 supercars as the race just started.
Being lazy after such a long walk i just wanted to stand near the fence and watch the V8's shoot by. After watching a few go by i decided to take some snaps

Those V8 are fantastic and it was pretty good to see them close, as at Sandown i was a bit of a distance away from them.

The race didnt last long as i think they only raced for 100km, maybe 150km, something to do with no proper pits for V8 drivers as the indy drivers had taken over.

So as there was a while until the Indy started, my dad and myself decided to walk around and see what else is around the track. I gave the camera to my dad as i wanted to get some photos with the "Indy Icons/Promoters", besides the cars, the alcohol, the heat the only thing left is....

the wonderful ladies of the Indy:thumbsup:

Its a shame i didnt have 1 more roll of film as i missed out on photos with the Jack Daniels(JD) girls and many many more.;)

Enough fun during the break, time for the indy to start! I was standing near Bartercard Esses along the straight as we got a GREAT spot. In front of us was the track, behind us was......

if you cant make it out its a topless female parading herself for the guys below and she wasnt the only one:D (like i said NOT enough rolls of film).

Then just before the race started, army helicopters were flying around and around, Loud Jet planes also flew above and then the Indy drivers were paraded and they are some lucky people

nice car by the way, except being PINK.

I thought to myself the best time to take a photo of the Indy cars would be when they are just warming not when they started racing (being on the back straight).

So around and around they came warming those awesome machines up ready to for the race.

Being on the back straight they must have gone past me at just over 200km/h, It was fantastic, being only 4 metres away from something that quick.

The day was great and will definetely be going back next year. Planning to book a hotel on the track for the 4 days soon.
If you ever wanted to go to a great event the Indy would be the race Plenty of race cars, girls....girls....girls and booze.....Heaven:D

    Indy Photo's

Top photo's Max, very envious of you for being there, I watched it on T.V. but it didn't give the coverage that you captured. Did you get any quotoes or names of any hotels, when you was there for next year, as I will definetly be there.

    Not 100% sure...but

Focus, ANA Hotel, Sun City, Gold Coast International Hotel, Crown Towers, Narraneck.....theres heaps. From what i have been told (but could be wrong), you cannot make a reservation until 6 months prior the days you want to stay.

Another thing, it wont be cheap. So you get like 6 mates to all chip in because some places can set you back up to $2000 for either the whole week (7 days) or the long weekend Thu-Sun (4 days).

Hey Max I live in Brisbane and work at the goldcoast if you like I can..

find out the names of more hotels in the indy circuit for next year but some of the goodones are... the ANA hotel, Goldcoast international, focus, etc. and there are heaps of other little ones but be carefull when you book because some are not even facing the track and you may end up looking at another building....also I have heard rumors of the indy being changed to another date as rain has fallen in at least one of the indy days in the last 8 years.

nice chiky babes by the way!!!

    Thanks for the offer.....

but my dads organising it all, he lives 5 minutes from Surfers. But its true some of the hotels you would get a bad view, but something on the 6th or 7th floor should be ok.
