    Scored 304.3RWHP at .85 - .9 bar boost.

Was running extremely rich up high where all the power was being made so tune should see some higher figures.

I was getting a bit of pining (can't hear it) but can see it on the graph pining.
As boost builds and kicks in don't know why that would be maybe bad fuel delivery system? Or some thing.

I'll upload the scan of the dyno sheet soon

Do you think it's overly lean down low?

    Looks very rich

High in the revs very rich so if pinging then too much timing and or dirty injectors and not spraying nicely?
Spark plugs in good condition and .8mm gap?
    Good premium fuel?
Intake temps OK non standard intercooler(s)?
Not much of a power increase from base I take it?
Trim more fuel out to around 11.8 to 1 and maybe retard timing higher in the revs or where ever it is pinging and it will make more power and use less fuel. Should test on the road also.
How many runs did they do as looks like only 2?

    It wasnt a tune

Just a dyno run with A/F

Pining happened down low as boost crept in then went away I think, as it richens up.
The guy said it wasn't adjusting to a richer mix fast enough. *shrug*

But after told it was pining I am now running factory boost :) until I get it tuned.
I couldn't hear pining but the guy dynoing it reckons he could.

He said it looks like timing might be too advanced he could be right I have never checked it. Some back yard monkey could have done the cheap way but rotating the CAS to get more power.

I have a FMIC and .8 mill gapped NGK 6EIX's maybe I need a cooler plug?

    .85 -.9 Bar.... that about 12-13psi?

Nice figure for the amount of mods you have, will be interesting to see the figures when she gets tuned.

    Nice work.

    Yep

I am hoping for at least 320rwhp with a safety margin. When tuned.

    But we will see.

Was it Danny that did the power run?

Weird at how its leaning out, Nissan ECU's traditionally run overly rich all the way through the rev range.

Fuel cap keeps working its way lose, can it affect fuel delivery?

I found my car was smelling of fuel the entire day and when I went to fill up after the dyno run I found it was all ready undone just sitting there I know I do it up properly because its happened a few times to me.

Could this affect the fuel delivery system? By it being open? And have caused a bit of a delayed reaction in the fuel mixture to richen up with the boost?

I can't remember the guys name, it was done at Chip masters, SOR

    red32 You talkin' to me?

The whole fuel system becomes pressurised

as you drive the car, and if the fuel cap was loose, yes, this could upset your fuel flow, eg to the injectors. At least, this my understanding. (Puts on flame-proof suit)

I don't think it would affect fuel flow

The 300ZX uses an in-tank fuel pump so it needs no primary fuel pumps to prime a high pressure fuel pump. The fuel tank shouldn't be pressurised if the charcoal canister is working as it should. There should also be no vacuum since the fuel cap vents air to the tank to make up for the usage of fuel.

    Yeah Danny owns the place.

He also owns the black Monaro putting out over 600rwhp. Did three low 10sec passes last weekend!

    Impressive stuff!

Ok, so say the charcol cannister is full(can it get full?)

Or, is not working? The result would be........? And can you ditch the charcol cannister/replace it/purge the contents of it?

    yes you can ditch it....

there are a few missing cannisters amongst the members here.

Chewy, maybe I have a problem too!

After driving for any length of time, say, half an hour, if I remove the petrol cap (at a servo, for instance) I get a prolonged "hissing" sound, as if there is a release of pressure (or maybe it's a partial vacuum) which I thought was normal. But whatever, the fuel tank is obviously not pressure-equalised with the atmosphere.
Where is the charcoal canister, I might disconnect it and see what happens.

    I get that

I undo it some times when its not worked lose and I'll get a noise don't know if its vacuum or positive pressure.

and other times it doesn't do it

    Baroo TIMMAY!

Dad i get this too so you can play

with mine as well to see it thats the prob or maybe its just common in zeds. Who knows?

Should you put something in it's place??

If ya romove it that is?? I mean it's there to catch something, so just blocking it up probably wouldn't be the smartest of ideas... or is it??
