Sorry hit return key too soon

I recommend BP over the others. Somehow, after all the fuels I use, my car runs smoother (slightly though)Safeway petrol is a no brainer for no go though

    Premium recommended by owners manual

Hi I too have an NA.
My owners manual says on page 9-14 "Use only unleaded gasoline of above 91 octane (RON). for optimum engine performance, Nissan recommends the use of premium unleaded gasoline above 95 octane (RON).
If premium unleaded gasoline is not available your Nissan vehicle can also be operated with 91 to 93 octane (RON) fuel."Before you ask I have no idea what RON is.When I first bought my car I ran it on ordinary unleaded for a week or two. It did not seem to do any harm but it was very low on power.

    Ive used both!

I just got my Z two weeks ago and on the trip down from shepporton where i bought my car i put just normal unleaded and it was pinging, then i used Shell OPTIMAX and pinging stoped, altough power performance in my opinion is the exact same, of maybe JUST A LITTLE bit more but not something that you would REALLY notice,
I gotta admit i have been using SHELL OPTIMAX because pinging has stoped but im gonna get the car tuned for regular,
And when it comes to using what brand of petrol, i guess everyone has there own opinion but all i will say is <ONLY USE MOBILE, SHELL, OR B.P.> As in there petrol australian oil is used and is the purest best quality stuff you can get therefore better quality petrol, i personally ONLY use SHELL but aslong as you say with those 3 should be OK.Hope it helped, good lcuk with the Zed :-Z :-Z :-Z

    Sorry forgot to add something

As long as you use MOBILE, SHELL or B.P. You should be fine as they use the aussie oil.!

    been using normal unleaded

on my aus spec and had no pinging and no problems with it. the occasional tank of optimax doesn't seem to really do anything. no added smoothness. however my timing is being advanced this week so i will be running premium after that.

only ever put shell premium unleaded

in my NA and never anything else...its a few cents more expensive than regular unleaded...just remember that the na when released in australia was $88,000 car....so dont be cheap or you will get burned for it in the long run...

    those W#$&ers at shell

still havent replied to my bitchin email regarding not selling go well, go shell juice here. From the website, its too expensive to make and apparently eastern states demand is too high rendering the Geelong plant maxxed out for production. In other words us sand gropers miss out because the tight arses at shell are making heaps from the QLDers and NSW and dont need to rip s off yet.

    Be patient....

...Queenslanders north of brisbane only just started getting optimax a few months ago. I read on the shell site last year that they are planning on selling optimax in WA in 2005 or 2006 when they have got production increased. I tried to buy a couple of barrels to take with me to Weipa when I was up there, but they wouldnt sell me any the bastards:x
