    not sure of brand

but definitely try to get something with remote starter if you can afford it. Makes warming up your engine a breeze.

    In My Opinion

I Have found most alarm immobilisers are useless once the alarm is bypassed as they worked of a relay which is normally closed and opens only whilst the alarms is triggered, hence bypass the alarm or cut power to it and you will be able to start the car. I always use a seperate hidden switch to power up relays to immobilse the car (starter cicuit , fuel pump, ignition etc)

    Viper is pretty good although

Ive gone the whole hog and actually installed Sat-track in the Supra, I always intended to do it in the Z but never got around to it :p Basically the car can be tracked to within one foot, or basically un-stealable :p :D :YD Ehhh a lot more expensive than $400 though sorry 8(

    5K1TZX Its all never ending....

I think this is a good concept...

My immobiliser is pretty kool....Its probably pretty common but yeh :p .To start the car you need to have points on contact to a "ground" source. I've got 2 screws when touched they gound the system letting the car start. These screws are oviously hidden to the normal person sitting in the drivers seat. But if these 2 screws are found (pretty hard), i've got a switch (hidden in a air vent) which changes the combination of 2 screw touches to another 2 screws sumwhere else in the car, and of course when these 2 points of contact isnt made when the key is turned onto systems or start the alarm goes off. Pretty good idea if you ask me! :YD :-Z

    Cheap Sat track system

an old Mobile phone left in car hooked up to a battery charger. Pretty much tracks the car anywhere then. Just remember to recharge your call credits.:-Z

    ??

Which by definition wouldn't be a sat tracking system! How would you find out where your car is by just having a phone in it?AB

Where did you get the relay for that?

And do you know the part number, please?I've seen this system and it is SUPERB! Btw, you can also weave some copper wire into a floor mat for contact point!

There is a valid reason for>

no-one wanting to install a remote start in a manual.
In most, if not all States, it is illegal to leave a vehicle parked in neutral, with only the hand-brake to stop it from rolling away.
There have been numerous serious injuries to pedestians, caused when vehicles have been bumped by a parking car/truck, and the hand-brake has failed/released, allowing the vehicle to pin someone between parked cars.

My car has a dynamco cyclops 385 immobiliser

It was already installed in the car when I bought it. It has two normally open immobiliser circuits and according to the literature cannot be shorted to start the car.
It self arms about 30 seconds after turning off the engine. If manually armed with the remote it also locks the doors. The immobiliser circuits can be fitted in several places to isolate either electrics or fuel. The self arming feature can be a bit of a nuisance but you get used to it after a while. I dont like kill switches as it is to easy to forget to trigger them when leaving the car.On my wifes car we fitted an immobiliser with a transponder. It is brilliant you do not have to do anything except keep the transponder tag with the key.

just pullin yer leg kidding :-Z

but didnt they do it in that movie with Will Smith & Gene Hackman (Enemy of the State). Speaking of Sat trak systems, do they employ GPS tracking. I'm seriously doubting they can track to an accuracy of a foot. For you guys with GPS systems, when you're in town (ie tall buildings etc, how many sat birds do you have a fix on. Havent taken GPS into underground car parks yet. Just out of interest thats all:-Z
