I'm sorry if this is in the wrong section, but it IS related to a Z...This morning I'm at the server, filling up the datto (fear my four cylinders of fury) when I see a Z parked out the front... Aus delivered, in red... With a bumper sticker on the back. :s And chips ALL over the paintwork... the front bar was almost falling to pieces... 8-} And the interior. ACK! ) ) ) He ended up coming out to his car, so I pulled up next to him and got his attention and got him to wind down his window... I looked at him and asked "Hey mate, you in the club?", to which I received a blank look... So I proceeded, "I've got one of these, in the shop being rebuilt... You interested in joining the club?" and he just looks at me gives me a look as though he was trying to say "Leave me the hell alone" and then just says "Nuh."Grrr... I almost started yelling at him it made me so mad... Maybe a "Nah man, I'm not right into my car" or anything like that would have been better than the short responses I received from him...... All it made me realise though... My car isn't such a ) after all, like I think sometimes... You know, sometimes you just get down, and YOU know all the bad points about your car and get hung up on them... It feels like it'll never be perfect. But it'll get there one day. And as sad as it is, it's nowhere near as bad as some of the Z's you see out there... How can people not look after these beautiful machines.. :?) >D< :-Z
Some people..... just aren't enthusiasts. My mate drove his bro's zed to work one day. I went and had a look and noticed some things wrong. His fan was badly cracked, and looking at the CAS, his car seems to be retarded. His response to this?? "he didnt care"..Cheers

ok then my Z is an absolute pig, at the moment its covered in mud.my motor is ready to fall apart if my trans doesnt die first.its just my work car, i drive it daily, its very hard to keep a car in showroom condition, esp when you drive it everyday
and fixing stuff costs money..im not going to spend every cent of my paycheck on my car, ive got other things in life to worry about rather than "do i impress people i dont know with my fancy car"

I mean, most of the damage on the car could have been avoided by washing it at least once in the past year, and I gave him the opportunity to learn more anyway...Let me put it this way, if he cared about his car he'd fix it up to enjoy, if he didn't care about his car he'd fix it up to sell... I know what you mean. There is this guy.... who had an office near my place whose daily driver was a Maranello(?) Ferrari. seen 1 like that i was in the blue mountains and saw a z32 convertible,it in shocking shape,paint chips, bumper hanging off and roof all scratched and torn. I can see why people get annoyed when they see things like this. I know i do cause i don't have the money to buy a z yet see people treating 300zx's like everyday driver cars and not taking the time to take advantage of the fact they own the best car on the road.
some people were just born to............... be losers and drive there car into the ground, unfortunately it is there car and if they wish to treat it like a Volvo or a Ford we cant really do anything, maybe we need to start up a RSPCC lol. Get used to it peoples, a tidal wave Of shit boxes is about to hit, called the 15 year rule, making the Z worth next to nothing, and as cheap as an old commodore.You are going to see more "un desirable" people driving them, and mistreating them, its only going to get worse :`( :`( :`(
obviously no one has mentioned mine yet..... cos mine is one of "those"....riff raff zeds, havnt washed it for over 2 months, full of rattles, rear spoiler removed and havnt patched up paintwork (over a year now..) front bumper held together with cable ties, no centre console (making new one to fit double din head unit...nearly finished...stereo is in the car and working, held in big hole with cut up fruit boxes, the foam ones) ) usually has bald or buying second hand tires , filthy interior, engine bay a mass of patched up hoses and more hose clamps than originaly intended (can I call these performance upgrades ???)...and front shocks are only there for looks. I'm contimually finding tools in the engine bay from a few years back,BUT.......REdZEdmikeys OLD front spoiler to be painted an fitted next 2 months, ($$$$$$ issue)and at the same time going to do hatch,...waiting on repair of one of my tools so I can finish the centre console, also have 3 year old side skirts which will also be painted and fitted (have the molds if anyone is interested)....BUT I have reasons for this,.....1) Full time student, have barely enough money to run the car let alone make it a showpiece, money spent on essentials like oil and important repairs such as wheel bearings,energy suspension bushes, PETROL.....(faark)...drive from Keilor in west to Ashburton in East every second day,2) am a busy person, have relationship commitments,school commitments and work comittments..so when your home from work washing and polishing your car I'm either still working ,at school, in the books at home,in the missus, or in the car stuck in peak hour traffic on the way for the reason before this one.BUT.....1) my car puts out 202 rwk (when no boost leaks!!)...stock chip, no U/D pulley just pod, exhaust and upped boost,2) Mine also gets driven the way its meant to, rather than sit in the garage out of the rain in a glass case I'm out driving it and having fun, late at night...which is a shit load better than washing it.....AND...I'm fucking proud I own a ZEd, even if it's a dirty one !!!!!:+) :+) x( ^D^ :YD BB
fair go ! mines a 15 yr import and i love it yes i realise there is going to be a sh!t load of rough cars come over , ive been watching the prestige mail list and all sorts of other import places, , but the 15yr rule saved me from a silvia non turbo , an old rx7 (very beaten up) and a 91 lexus , this one wouldnt have been so bad, other than the V8 was so whipped that my pulsar could have beaten it ... as sad as it sounds if it wasnt for the 15yr rule ... i could be driving a commo 8-}
