Hi all, new to the forum. Have always loved the 300zx and as I'm in my 50's thought bugger it and bought a 1989 TT. It's very original and seems really well maintained - just need the front rotors replaced at this stage. Does anyone know a decent workshop around Brisbane - I'm just a few kms west of the city. Any advice to a new owner would be welcomed as I'm definitely no mechanic. Can't believe how it drives for a 30 year old car! Happy to have joined the 300zx community.
Welcome. Hope the car treats you well. Definitely recommend Bris Euro Automotive. Niall Phillips who has been a long time 300ZX veteran will be able to do all the work it needs but also give you some feedback on preventative maintenance as well.
welcome Robgrant63 Your story sounds familiar to me - pushing 50 wanted something inappropriate. if i wasn't such a tight arse id buy the custom plates " CRISIS " Best of luck with the car.
Hi Robgrant63, Good to see another mature bloke amongst the ranks of Zed owners. 55 aint old. Once bitten you never loose the urge of desire. The Zed32 is a very attractive car in any color, the only problem is they all become a money pit. They are also old enough to qualify for club reg so if your doesn't see a lot of road use join a club and opt for the cheaper rego. Good luck and enjoy
sweet I am still a young'n compared to some of you chaps...... makes me feel a little refreshed considering I feel like I am often one of the oldest with most of my automotive buddies (I am 44 btw)
I am 71 years young and had my 300 for 19 years, after having 2 MGB's and a 1973 Honda Coupe 9 ( 4 cyclinders, 4 SU Carbs, extractors, air and oil cooled, front wheel drive) Went like a rocket. Loved going into the servo and was asked if the attendant (usually a young kid) could check under the bonnet for water and oil. Used to love watching the attendant look for the radiator cap. You are right about a money pit, but the ride is what makes it all worth while
