My car is finished being resprayed in Ferrari red, Twinz front and rear bar on, twins rear spoiler on, new tail lights in, new driver side door hinges, new door window rubbers, new roof centre piece, delete aerial, new windscreen, got rid of the stone chip paint. Next tow it to UAS for an engine rebuild, hoping for 300+ rwkw. :zlove:
I can fully understand why now after holding a caliper in my hand. They are rather beefy. Arrived today, extremely happy with this purchase. Now for rotors and adaptors.
I just removed my SpecialtyZ 3" expansion (5 bolt) downpipes from the car without removing the tranny first... Dont think i will repeat that anytime soon even though it was quicker. Soooo looking forward to puting them back in...
Went to the RTA/RMS with my car's weight ticket. Noticed typo of license plate Zero instead of letter C. Thankfully no one has the error number plate, other wise would have to get re-weighed. Rego now $353 rather than $505. Also got $4 back from what was left from previous Rego discrepancy. Had to buy new battery. Old one only had 119CC left in the 540CC old battery. New battery is 620CC (Annoyingly taller so need new tie down rod)
1st time plenum pull and more Did my plenum pull, deletes, rocker covers fixed boost leaks and more today, started 1st try perfectly smooth, went for a good drive and it's beautiful so very happy. Only thing that went wrong was the fast idle control broke but it's only for air con so no stress there. Painted the plenum too. Don't know why the image shows half :/
So not quite today, because I've never posted here, so I have a lot to post! This is what I've done to my 1990 2+0 N/A since I bought it for $2k from someone a few months ago Removed stock airbox, installed Apexi Power Intake Pod Changed spark plugs with brand new NKG plugs rated for the N/A Oil filter and oil change Fuel filter change Remove cheap looking chrome wheels and purchased some new 18" with Kuhmo Ku31 tyres + installed Replaced pads all round Replaced front rotors Upgrade from a faulty S1 PTU to a S2 PTU (rewired directly to new connectors, no plug and play harness) New TPS connector installed New coolant temp sensor connector installed Coolant drain, flush and fill up with fresh coolant Adjusted TPS to 0.44 from 0.26 Coming up soon will be these: Replace rear rotors Tein Flex Z coilovers New Brake booster Replace aging rubber hoses Plenum pull to replace a dodgy clamp holding the rubber fuel line between injector rails on (unfortunately because it leaks fuel it's not being driven until this is fixed)
Scored a Navan wing, vented nose panel and A pillar dual gauge holder from Nizzpro this morning. Old mate is having a sale and everything is $10...door cards, clusters, headlights you name it $10.
Niiiice... well done mate! HAs he got a link in the "For Sale Z Relayted" Hey, I know.... why don't I go see lol!
So decided to change heater hard lines at back of engine, due to a coolant leak. How it looked out, nice and corroded. New Heater Lines, getting them in engine/lower plenum in. Biggest PITA. Also had to replace my turbo water lines. First is the bad one, second is the replacement. Couldn't even blow air through the bad one!
Changed my fuel pump! Woow Jamersss... massive job that. Looks like a real pain in the arse!:agree: My litlte project was much easier by comparison, hardest part was prying the rubber jacket off the old pump to put on the new one. Cleaned the sliding scale that measures the output from the fuel float too and "Whalllaahhh" my fuel gauge is accurate again lol! Should have done that little fix ages ago but the pump failing altogether was the final straw!
Ordered a billet 102mm Throttle body, Intake piping/filter, Sparco pedals, Sparco gearknob, paid off some more of my wiring harness and other goodies from LOJ. Up for new pads, rotors and a wheelie on the supra now so another slight delay with my build.
New 1 piece Drive shaft After years of a vibration on acceleration, I finally ordered a steel one piece drive shaft from CZP. A short afternoon under the 1990 NA and it drives like a new car. Vibration gone and all power to the wheels! PS. Yes, centre bearing was replaced inside last 3 years so it was time to try a new solution.
Firehorse and I pulled the motor and box from the donor Z for the slicktop to run it whilst I collect 2jz parts. He and mtopxsecret6 were kind enough to help transport the Bride low max seats to the slicktop, will look nice when I do another black dye job on the tweed. Need to source a single engine mount, U-hose for heater core bypass, cas, injector and coil connectors, fan and install the manual pedal assembly and clutch master.
Got Danny from The Install Bay to take out my old car alarm and install a new one. Really recommend this guy to anyone at Gold coast/Brisbane region. Done alot of work on our 300zx cars all through the 90's and knows the cars well. Also swapped out the cabin light bulb with a led, man what a difference should've done that ages ago.
As my 2+0 has poor turning capability; notably when trying to reverse park . I decided to buy tie rod spacers. 1x bolt-on and 1x slip-on. While the procedure is simple, my car fought me each step of the way.... anyway, now I can reverse park with ease Just need wheel alignment now.
