Does anyone know of alternatives to carpet for the Z?

I don't mind the no carpet look and as the interior is currently out I'd like to replace the carpet with something a bit more durable and easy to clean.

I've seen spray on stuff similar to what they put in utes etc but I'm wondering if you can find a rubber solution that can be installed?

No carpet? That means you are looking at that plywood ECU cover. Here is a pic of the no carpet, no cloth, ALL WOOD look :rolleyes2:

Just joking, are you referring to replacing the rear carpet? Someone on this forum has done wood.

Oh wow that is a strange pic. Is that for when they were designing the Z?

Nah I meant the carpet under your feet. And not no carpet but something to replace the carpet.

Then get some custom plates that read "LUSH"

Remember that the Zed gets quite warm (that under floor heating) , so any kind of vinyl or rubber may end up leeching fumes when it gets warmed up.

You could just leave the carpet and cover it with a couple of 4WD floor (mud) inserts

Hmm, hadn't considered off gassing when warm... I think some rubber overlays might be the best way to go.

If your looking for new car carpet, I wouldn't bother I have looked everywhere in Aus, USA and UK. Nobody has carpet for our model they all tend to stop at the Z31. Therefore I am going to have one custom made.

Very this, if you look at buying some sort of commercial rubber give it a good sniff in the store, if you can smell anything in the big open showroom you absolutely don't want that in your little cramped cabin. Stink lasts for at least a year.
