    Hey all,

I am looking into replacing the stock side-mounts of my '91 TT and was hoping for some valuable suggestions. I know this has been covered before but none of SMIC threads are really recent so was wondering what the go-to upgrade is at the moment (sub $450ish)?

Are the ebay Japtek sidemounts the way to go for $360 delivered?

Or perhaps the Godspeed ones from ConceptZ? (although they look near-identical to the Japteks)

Or perhaps someone has a decent set lying around they would possibly sell?

    Any feedback is appreciated, thanks

    They are the same.

I've got them on mine and have no major issues. You might have to jiggle and adjust them a bit to get them to fit under the bumper but they do fit.

I actually have a spare set lying around you could grab. I'll check their condition when I get home and get back to you.

They are basically the same item and the same price if you do the USD AUD conversion, but freight from Japtek in Australia will be cheaper.

Dimi from Japtek has been around a while and proven to be reliable, he also can sell you some nice duct kits to seal the face of the intercooler up to the front bar inlet. (see eBay add details.)

Thanks for the link, but exactly the same as the Japteks? I just don't want problems with fitment for a small saving..

I fitted the one I linked you at the end of last year. I actually paid $224 at the checkout because Ebay had a 20% off site wide sale at the time.

I bought the ducts off Japtek though.

I'm sure your aware of the common problem of Japtek intercoolers fouling on the plug for the indicators, so the bulb needs to be relocated.

Overall up to you, i've had a good experience with these. The car is running 16psi, and i use my car as a daily. In my personal experience I have had no issues with these :)
I've actually had more issues with the Japtek ducts fitting in the bumper, since they are designed for the 2k spec bar.
    Goodluck

Thank you for the very informative reply, it was extremely helpful! But no, I wasn't aware of fouling issues with the indicator, what is involved there to clear the plugs?

On the left hand side there is limited room because of the carbon canister. You can either delete the carbon canister, or replace it with a r33 carbon canister which is a lot smaller. This gives you enough clearance for the bulb. Or~~~ you can just do what I did and relocate the bulb holder to the side so it has enough room for clearance. Use a dremel/rotary tool to chop the bulb holder out. Then you need to make a new hole in the place you want it, then glue it down. Also requires a new orange bulb, instead of the clear ones.
