There are five wires coming out of the fuel tank pump assembly, two large diameter, three smaller.
I assume some relate to the fuel gauge but I want to run a new power feed to the in-tank pump.
I am running an external surge tank with a second pump actually feeding the fuel rail, so the in-tank pump is acting as a lift pump to the surge tank.
However I want to control this in-tank pump along with the second pump, which operates via a relay and switch in the cabin. Not ECU operated.
I would prefer not to lose the fuel gauge function.
Can anyone advise me as to which wires I need to cut into. The harness is readily accessible and it should be relatively easy to do?>?????

    Thanks for that.
I had seen those blogs but couldn't work out the wiring - bit dumb that way.
Once I stripped back the wrapping it became even more confusing - the wiring colour changes between the pump and the main harness is crazy -but I think it is under control now. Appreciate your help.
Don't suppose you know anything about connecting an RB26 engine / ECU harness up to a Z32 :)))

If you're building a track car I would keep it really simple and run power straight from the battery. Use the power feed from the factory harness (or better yet a fuel pump trigger if you're using an aftermarket ECU) to switch a relay.

Only two wires run to the pump; once you have the bulkhead out you'll be able to see which are power & earth.

Yeah thanks, that is what I am trying to do LoL!
The factory power feed is dead and I intend running off a direct feed from the battery that I use for the two external pumps. Just trying to work out which two wires are going to the in-tank pump But without pulling the pump out of the tank, which I am loathe to do as i had a pr***k of a time when I replaced the in tank pump a couple of years ago, getting it to re seal.
I am going to make a new earth then try the large diameter orange wire as a power feed to see if the pump runs. It has to be that wire, I am 110% sure it is.
