I am yet to test mine out in anger, but apparently when under hard braking the firewall can move a little, this will help prevent the moving and translate into a pedal that doesnt have the extra few mm of movement in it of the firewall. Problem not really, unless you have a full blown race car, where it is always getting pressed hard and constantly.
try this open your bonnet and get someone to put their foot on the break pedal. Watch the master cylinder and brake booster and see for yourself how much it moves, most people I've shown have been quite surprised
