Only hitting 7 psi and slow acceleration??

    Hey guys,
Look this one has had me scratching my head for a good week now. Car runs and drives fine under normal conditions, but when it comes to put the foot down it is so sluggish and only get to around 7psi. Its like it has a huge boost leak but have been over the pipes and hoses multiple times and have not been able to find a leak. I admit haven't done a boost leak test as it's a bit of a pain as I have a very similar set up to the doolz set up and really haven't had the time. I'm running a haltech ECU and has not shown any codes not that it does that well anyway. Was hoping it would be an obvious fix and it has turned out not to be. Any help would be much appreciated. Cheers.

huh, was going to say safety boost but without a stock ECU that's unlikely, is the Haltech stand alone or piggy back?

What turbos/wastegates/boost control are you running?

Any mods or servicing just before it started playing up?

My first guess is going to be blocked cats/mufflers but could be boost leak as you suggested or failing turbos, fuel pump, spark plugs/coils etc.

I suggest pulling the pipe work off the front of the turbos, start the car (dont rev or drive) and see if one of the turbos is not spinning, also s it possible one of the wastegates is seized open.

It would also be helpful if this has been a problem since you got the car or if it has slowly developed or suddenly. Has any work been done that may be related.....

Hey mate, no its stand alone. Am running z1675rs if I'm correct and a haltech boost solenoid. Would be weird if that has failed but you never know i guess. It isn't that old.

And no, no mods it happened whilst on a z cruise on the great Ocean road. Didn't even know it wasn't boosting properly until I tried chasing a couple other z's on the way home.

I thought turbos but I removed the pipe on both sides to the intercooler and gave it a bit of a rev and they seemed to be spooling ok. I think.

It really has me baffled I haven't checked the exhaust but doesn't appear to be blocked but could be wrong all ideas are good imo. Something I can look at over the break.

That was my next plan but just haven't had the time it literally just happened no bangs clangs weird noises smoke or any of that matter just no boost. One turbo the right hand one had been removed recently by a mechanic to fix a leak on the oil tree did a good job and has been fine since. I have been having an issue with the oil getting to hot and it over heating but I think that is unrelated, but may not be. As it's a different motor and similiar problem as the last. Was what I thought was a head gasket but they looked fine. I'm really baffled. Will have a look at that over the break but. Thanks to both of you Stu and Tom for your ideas.

Ok so it's running below wastegate pressure so shouldn't be a boost controller problem either.
How bad are your temperatures getting? Maybe putting the Haltech into a safety map?
Do you have a wideband sensor with the Haltech? knowing if it's too lean/rich or getting proper mixture should help narrow it down, I'm assuming MAP sensor tune?

How about making a logfile and post it up..

They have gotten as high as 120°-130° oil temp and then it just sends the water temp up only happens when boosting. Driving normally it is fine. Won't overheat at all just spirited driving.

As far as safety map it could do im not sure, and yeas I have the wideband sensors, and I'm pretty sure it's a ve tune.
