I've been talking to a company that do alot of hot rod modification and are willing to do some work to my track only 2+2 Zed. I have a wrecking 2+0 with no engine and a nearly bare engine bay, if i got custom engine mounts made up for the 2+0 with the gearbox and engine im going to use in the 2+2 would they work when i get them home?? Basically will the 2+2 gearbox and custom engine mounts fit in the 2+0 while im busy doing other shit with the 2+2 :br:
Not necessarily, they both just need to be able to mount and accommodate enough space for the same factory engine and gearbox. Doesn't mean the shape would be identical. Which if fitting something non factory could be a factor. I agree I doubt they would be different though, but I've learned assumption often brings you undone lol.
Well either they're the same, or they're different and yet the same components use the same mounts to attach to identical fixtures on the body that align said components to the same points on the car...
Sure, if you're using factory engine and gearbox, but the OP is not, so if the shape is different, it is possible that it may fit in one, but not fit in the other. Are you just arguing for the sake of arguing or do you truly not understand my point
Not sure if I'm missing something here, what engine and box are in the 2+2? If it's the standard stuff in that then it will be completely interchangeable, the difference between the long and short wheelbase drivetrains is in the drive shaft.
As per every one of my posts lol, one could assume the OP is not talking about the standard engine and gearbox.
Well then assuming the gearbox will be mounted in the same factory position you shouldn't have any problems, both should fit fine. It would be interesting if anyone ever gets a chance to compare if they are identical though. I expect they probably are.
Hmmm, common engines that suit your username would be RB, JZ or LS but they're pretty common* so not worth keeping secret, SR is a maybe but they're a bit out of favour these days. Maybe something interesting like a rotor? Are you building the long awaited 20b Z32? *Common 'project build', you never actually see them in the wild.
Sadly no rotary, was thinking of doing some serious chassis work and try to fit a BMW twin turbo V10 in there but would've been too much work
Kind of hard to answer your question about what will fit with out knowing what you are trying to fit in but if you can get an engine to fit in a 2+2 you can get it to fit in a 2 seater.
