I had one. Heaps of detailed pics of installation in my build thread, do a search for it.

i had a cool 350Z style one that really blended with the dash.

It looked so good that instead of installing it, I sold the 300 and got a 350

I've got one which I removed recently. Have a look in my garage for pics and if you want it, just make me an offer.

Best way is to make one..........unless time is limited

Most of the existing ones involve cutting into the dash or cut off the vents and both are not something I am fond of....so I decided to make one myself after looking at nearly all of them.

I chopped up a spare dash and cut it into two pieces then joined them with fibreglass and sanded back (so it fits with the existing style dash shape), then made a face using smoked Perspex and rubber trim for a more professional look (might CF the face though - either way both look good). Still to do the triple dash pod cover (for a cover - I will use a mould). My design will clear all vents, have more room for extras and I designed leg stands that fit over the sides of the fascia to support it and so that I won't need to cut into the dash but rather run the wires behind the panel and down through the leg stands and into the console. I also have the face angled towards the driver whereas some US/ Euro/UK models will face straight or even do the opposite!

I have lots to do at the moment with my Z off the road and under major refit....so the mould is on the back burner for the moment...but if your thinking of designing the perfect one....I can send you pics of what I have done so far and you could see how it looks so far (to help guide you, as there are numerous restrictions to overcome when designing one - vents/ electricals / heights / angles / pod support are all crucial and limited)

Bit of hobbying involved but overall a simple job - the best ones by far are the custom made ones!

(that's my opinion anyway but each to their own......)

    Cheers
    JC
