So I'm pretty sure I have THIS car sitting in my garage getting some work done for a member.

I'd love to confirm that it is in fact Mark's old car? It has all the features that he mentioned in the ad, just wondering if anybody knows whose hands it has been through since.

The current owner (Zed Guy) bought it from Canberra.

The guy I bought it from told me was second owner. Reading previous posts, Mark could well have been the previous owner. The guy I bought it from certainly wasnt zedhed

No he didn't, Mark Field sold it to Zedhed (Russell), Russell sold it to, I don't know who at a huge loss.

Unless Mark had 2 cars and this is a second one.

Yeah it's definitely Mark Field's car, but I was the person who originally bought it from him!
It's had a bit of work done since I sold it though which is nice to see someone has put some more TLC into it!

I never actually had it officially registered on the road though so perhaps that's why the recent seller is claiming to be the second owner?........he's probably the second 'registered' owner in Oz apart from Mark.......but just check my old 'Z For Sale' thread & you'll see it's definitely my (& Mark's) old Z!;)

I'd love to know if my old NA was still around on the forum? Now that was a great Z & I'll always regret letting that one go!:zlove:

Couple of things to watch out for though (unless the previous owner has addressed them?), because it was Mark's old car the wiring in general has been messed with quite a lot! I think most of this was the result of Mark using the car as his test vehicle when developing his ZID immobilizer as well as converting the OEM cruise control on the steering wheel to a custom safety boost switch!

Mark also had done some weird thing with the base timing! This was to compensate for the fact that he'd made a few shortcuts when converting the auto to manual. I can't remember the exact explanation?

I gave the guy I sold this Z to the considerable written notes that Mark had provided with the sale of the car explaining all his 'tinkering' - so as the new owner it might be worth asking the seller if he still has a copy that you can have?

Like I said though, the previous owner may have already made some adjustments of his own?

Just thought you should know! ;)

Man tinkering is an understatement -the thing was a ****ing disaster...

I'm not having a dig at you or any of the previous owners but man the car was certainly not what it was hyped up to be by Mark. Given my own experience of his workmanship I'm not surprised.

Yeah Rob, unfortunately I found out the hard way & lost BIG time in the process! My experience of buying that car + dealing with idiots like Simon (LOWZX) really killed my passion for the Z!

Like I said I should have NEVER sold my Auspec NA! That car was factory condition! Every bolt & wire was as it came from NISSAN, apart from the mods I'd made! Should have just done the TT conversion! Live & learn I guess!

    Russ...

Do you see many Zeds there in the U.K?? They seem to have a bit of a following, just wondering how often you see them around?

Sorry we couldn't catch up when you were in Melb, hope you and Kelly are going great guns :)

Hey Mark, to be honest I've only seen a couple in almost 3yrs living here! So not that common, but that could just be London?

Probably a few more in other UK cities!.....especially if enthusiasts have the luxury of a garage to keep them in! Our neighbors on our street in SW London leave Audi R8's, Ferrari's, Maserati's & the like parked on the street due to the lack of private garages!
